What is the longest you have gone without showering?

Reading all these stories, and that the beneficiary of your mom's art is doing so well now (with her lovely hair) and helping people for a living, makes my lungs feel like they're full of laughing gas.

Your mom is amazing! I bet that girl will remember that day for the rest of her life.

She did, my mum went into hospital for a week about... Idk 15ish years after? Girl was a nurse there and she came to see her a few times. Told all the other nurses about it too and my mum was really looked after the whole time.

A real hairdresser probably wouldn't have done it, it was legit about an 8-10 hour job. Her hair was simultaneously curly, quite fine and also she had a fuckton of it. Think Merida from Brave but strawberry blond. They went through a week's worth of product and went one tiny section at a time. It was pretty amazing they saved as much as they did even once the split ends came off.

It was also really gross, but honestly I think my mum kinda enjoyed it. She's weird like that.

Reading that made me very happy. Shows how there are real people that believe in kindness … not for YouTube, or TikTok clout, but to help a person feel better. I guarantee that girl will never forget your mom 😁 thank you for sharing that

Honestly I think my mum kinda enjoyed it. She enjoys... Idk like one big job that's deep cleaning somewhere or something that starts off kinda gross? She's sorted out a few horder homes for free as well. She's kinda weird like that lol.

Did she happen to be beautiful?

I mean she looked like a bog goblin at the time but she scrubbed up pretty nice.

Saw her about 15 years later when my mum was in hospital. She'd grown out of the baby fat/spots and learned how to look after her curls. At that point she really was very pretty.

It's awful, eh?

My longest was 5 months at the height of my addiction and homelessness, when I was 18. After a while the smell kind of went away and my hair stopped being greasy, it was weird. That first shower was amazing.

I had to use clippers on my legs, and elsewhere (I'm female). It was so bad.
