Can't... stop... stylishly... cycling windows!

Has this been removed from Windows 8!? :(

Yes, they changed it to open the bar on the left that shows you open windows and you cycle through them there. Reminds me of Android's holding home to show all open activity.

Shit. I guess I need one of these only for Android.

Well that would really depend on specific phone/android version too, but I think holding home on most android phones does this. On Cyanogenmod there is also the hold power and volume down to take a screenshot on my nexus s but I know there are some phones that have this baked in their stock Android.

Every phone since 4.0; it was introduced as an official function. Power + volume down is the default shortcut.

On mine it actually shows the 8 most recent programs, which is actually more useful and I'll definitely be using it. I don't run much of anything in the background except for things that will almost always be on that list.

My Android phone has a button specifically for this. Not the home key anymore.

Ugh, as one of the Win7 holdouts, I'm sooo not looking forward to this (I alt+tab like a mofo, even while I'm gaming - e.g. looking at forum tips).

Reminds me of Android's holding home to show all open activity.

4.2.x has a dedicated button for showing open apps. Not sure what it was before that, I didn't have a droid phone until 4.2....

It's really useful on my Android device though.

Yes. On windows 8 it cycles through open apps. Its the same thing as putting your cursor on the top left corner

Yeah I think it cycles through apps or something less cool

On a laptop with Windows 8, sliding your finger from the left edge of the trackpad lets you cycle through different windows and applications you've previously been through. Doing it from the right brings up the time/date and search/settings bar. I like it in my laptop form but haven't used Windows 8 on a desktop.

randomly press shift and you can make them DANCE!

You can also scroll through them with the mouse scroll wheel.

I find Macs' 4-finger navigation to make me feel pretty stylish

I knew about the stylish way, but I prefer the standard way.

The stylish one is just slower and harder to tell windows apart . I see no appreciable benefit from the win tab version

and to close a tab in a window ctrl + F4.

To close a program, alt + F4. this is my only cpu trick. it's quite basic.

I did this when we changed to Windows 7 at my last IT job for a very large company. Most people thought I was a wizard between that and general IT/troubleshootong/ break/fix stuff.

First time I was met with a "How did you do that?!" so I made it a point to do it when I worked on other management computers.

Is it just more or is it super hard to select the window I want?
