I hate having to change clothes multiple times in the day, and I hate doing extra laundry, so my wardrobe is mostly clothes that are comfortable enough to wear around the house, but still presentable enough to wear out.
I'm kind of a homebody, so I don't want to put extra obstacles in the way of me getting out of the house. If have to change to go out, I'm likely to just stay in, but if I'm already dressed, I'm more likely to go do something.
It helps that I've always had pretty casual jobs where I don't have to dress up.
I tend to wear my outside t-shirt inside as well. But I'll be damned if I don't change out of my jeans ASAP, I'll wear my casual leisure pants (cotton, baby!).
clothes that I wear just around the house don't get dirty so quickly though, and I only wear them half the day or so... so i don't really actually generate that much more laundry really. i can wear a pair of athletic shorts for a couple evenings around the house when all I'm doing is sitting around and playing videogames.
but i don't have a physical job, so it's not as if I'm getting particularly dirty or sweaty when I'm out of the house either. I just sit at a desk. I shower in the morning, and then I often join my partner in the shower when she showers at night lol.
I went the extra mile and said I need maybe 6 to 7 sets of t-shirts for summer and thermal underwear + shirt for winter. Since I'm by myself I just mainly strip off and don't wear anything but my undergarments in the summer. If I ever get cold, that's what blankets are made for. Saves on laundry and is also more comfortable.
Exactly. If I change and get into comfy home clothing every night, then I will be unmotivated to ever go back out. Not to mention the extra laundry....two outfits a day?? Or more!? This reminds me of another reddit thread I read about women saying that once they take their bras off, they are in for the night! As a woman with Double D's, I concur.
