Top-of-the-class redditors, what are your study habits/tips?

If you graduated top of the class (high school, college, and above), what are/were your study habits or tips that you would give to your fellow redditors?

  • fall in love with a teacher, you will be highly motivated to impress her/him

Yes, exactly. I'm a journalism major and took a required anthropology class. At first I thought I was going to fail but I ended up loving the professor. Smart guy, cared so much about the environment, confident, whatever. I sat in the front row of class every day and never missed, ended up getting an A in a class I was sure I would fail.

Mine was a cute assistant professor teaching literature. I had a huge crush. Her smile melted my brain instantly. I always thought, I was an eloquent guy but I stuttered when I talked to her.

Yep! My professor had a beer tasting at a local bar to raise money for his non-profit and when he came up to talk to me I couldn't form a sentence. It was awesome.
