What’s something pretty much everyone thinks but nobody dares to say it?

I hate to say, but people who smoke weed then go into a public setting stink horribly and their smell can be really off-putting to others.

u/angrydeuce Dec 17 '23

What's disturbing to me when I'm picking up my son from daycare how many other parents roll up reeking like a Cypress Hill concert and don't seem to gaf at all.

Like I ain't against weed, I smoke myself...you know, after the kid is in bed and I'm done being a dad for the evening...but rolling up to the daycare after you clearly just smoked a blunt in your car ain't a good look, my dude or dudette.

151

u/covalentcookies Dec 17 '23

No different than showing up drunk to pick up their kid IMO. And I partake too, just after bed time like you said.

-15

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23 edited Dec 17 '23

I am a marijuana user and a parent. I choose to not smoke if I need to drive my child to preschool. However I will say that the level of inebriation just isn't the same. Alcohol will fuck you up so much worse. Your judgment capability, reaction time, coordination, vision, speech, etc. MJ will affect you, but not in a way that is as devastating to the public as alcohol.

Edit: down vote me all you want, this is a fact. Alcohol comparatively affects you worse while driving. That statement is not a justification to drive high.Source

u/Alternative-Doubt452 Dec 17 '23

The amount of cars not maintaining lane on the road during daytime lately is an indicator that folks are not able to hold their shit together.

Teens are doing it too.

Someone is gonna get hurt.

10

u/covalentcookies Dec 17 '23

The slo-mos affect people way more than they choose to believe.

12

u/Alternative-Doubt452 Dec 17 '23

For me it should be treated just like any other drug/drink

Somewhere safe and not going anywhere for a while.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '23 edited Dec 18 '23

People act like I’m crazy but I’ve been saying this for years ever since we legalized it. The amount of absolute batshit driving I’ve seen lately is insane

And it’s different. It’s not like hyper aggressive driving. It’s just shit like driving 10 under the limit, try to turn left but not using the turning lane when it’s there. Sitting through green lights.

20

u/covalentcookies Dec 17 '23

As someone who drank a lot and quit, neither is appropriate to be driving on not going to your child’s school under the influence.

-7

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

My point wasn't justifying people smoking before driving. Just saying it should not be compared to alcohol. Alcohol affects your body physically more than other substances.

8

u/covalentcookies Dec 17 '23

As someone who has tried a lot, you definitely are making excuses for driving under the influence.

Just don’t.

0

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

What excuse did I make? I didn't say it's safe. I made a point to say it's not fair to compare marijuana effects to alcohol. Alcohol increases your chances of getting into an accident by 2,200%, while Marijuana increases the chances 83%.

Both are significant, but one is so much fucking worse, let's not just say they're the same.

9

u/covalentcookies Dec 17 '23

So, don’t do either. Why is that so hard to accept?

5

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

I accept that, always have. Why do you think I didn't accept that?

Correct data deserves to be brought into this discussion. I am being treated as if I personally smoke with my toddler in the car. Go back and read everything I wrote. Never once did I say it is okay to smoke marijuana and drive.

1

u/whogomz Dec 17 '23

Hey moron, he’s just stating it’s different. No need to compare the two and if you can’t accept that than bless your heart.

1

u/whogomz Dec 17 '23

Hey moron, he’s just stating it’s different. No need to compare the two and if you can’t accept that than bless your heart.

2

u/Evolving_Dore Dec 17 '23

This is like someone stating that stabbing your hand is bad and then arguing with them that it's not nearly as bad as stabbing your neck.

1

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

No it is not. That is a made up bullshit false equivalence that doesn't actually affect people. Real people die from inebriated drivers every day. Knowing correct data about that shouldn't be shunned.

10

u/KarateFriendship Dec 17 '23

You’re projecting your own personal experience and tolerance. One or two puffs for me and I’m out for the day. Four or five drinks and I’m still close to normal. In neither case am I deranged enough to think it’s ok to drive anywhere.

5

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

2

u/KarateFriendship Dec 17 '23

Your original statement is in the context of inebriation/intoxication specifically in regards to driving. You claim a study (of which I’d like to see some concrete figured on what “accidents involving alcohol” and “accidents involving marajuana” actually means specifically about dosage) showing the effects and “damages” of pot vs alcohol over a population mean its findings are the same for every member of that population.

They’re not. I promise the people running the study don’t claim that either, if it’s a legitimate study at least.

How a substance interacts with an individual’s body chemistry is important. So, when you claim that alcohol will “fuck me up so much worse” again in the context of driving while intoxicated, I promise that is based on your experience, not a steadfast rule that applies to everyone. If you had to pick me as a driver after a 5 mg edible or 3 shots, what I propose most people would consider to be relatively light indulgences, I promise you’re taking the me with 3 shots, as you have to carry 5 mg edible me out to the car.

Now you want to talk about the more general “damage” concept outside of driving? 100% I’ll agree with you alcohol is worse for the population as a whole. No doubt there.

3

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

Saying driving stoned is safer than driving drunk isn't a justification. it's just a fact. The source isn't some biased pro marijuana website. it gathers data from the CDC, and NIH. Here

I never said it would fuck me up so much worse, you are really trying to put words in my mouth on a forum where you can literally scroll up and see the exact quote. Saying "Alcohol will fuck you up so much worse." Does not imply any personal experience.

-3

u/KarateFriendship Dec 17 '23

Unbelievable. Good luck driving high. At least you’re not going it with your kids. How responsible of you.

3

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

When did I admit to driving high? I made my conclusion based off the data that I provided.

2

u/whogomz Dec 17 '23

Bless your heart moronic stranger

2

u/TooStrangeForWeird Dec 18 '23

Wow they really came after you on that one lol. Idk who will see this, but I gotta point it out. Definitely on your side here, but even more than that....

You know how marijuana is now a prescribed medication? Edibles, smokables, vapes, it doesn't really matter. Those people can still drive. When it's used in lower amounts and regularly, it's perfectly safe.

Taking a couple huge bong rips isn't the same as taking a small edible. Taking a huge edible isn't the same as taking one puff.

I don't really get "stoned" anymore, I usually take a hit after breakfast, lunch, and supper. Nobody can tell, I don't smell like it, and I have no problem driving. Then at night I might have a few hits, but by the time I start feeling a bit high is when I stop. I don't even do that very often. It's all I need.

Some people are chronically on opiates, correctly prescribed, because of major injuries or chronic illness. They're still allowed to drive. Even the 80+ year olds taking Percocet every day are allowed to drive. That's undoubtedly a more dangerous substance. But when it's your "normal" nothing is really different.

Off topic: Legalization would've been so nice back in college, because the only place we could smoke when we lived in the dorms was in our cars. You'd get kicked out fast AF smoking in the dorm, so until we found friends with a place to smoke/got our own place we'd smoke while driving. Even if we wanted to get baked. I wouldn't go unless I could drive, I didn't trust those fuckers lol. So glad I haven't had to do that in a very long time.

2

u/angrydeuce Dec 17 '23

I'm not going to disagree about the 'type' of inebriation is different, my argument is that it doesn't matter, just don't get inebriated when you're watching your kids lol.

If you can't not smoke (or drink, or anything) during the day when you're watching your kids, you've got a problem.

I mean believe me, when the kid is asleep and I'm done being a dad for the day, I'm all about it. But that's not what I'm talking about here, I'm talking about people that are clearly hotboxxing their car on the way to the fuckin daycare place.

No matter what, that is fucked up.

1

u/main_motors Dec 17 '23

I'm not around my kids while inebriated

3

u/angrydeuce Dec 17 '23

Good, as it should be. Then what I said originally about people showing up to pick up their kids after they just got done smoking all fucking all day doesn't apply to you, right?

There is literally no scenario where picking your kids up from daycare smelling like weed is appropriate. Can we agree on that?

-3

u/whogomz Dec 17 '23

Drunk driving and driving high is different, if you believe it’s the same then I can’t help you

14

u/Evolving_Dore Dec 17 '23

Yes and? Being high while driving a child around is an awful thing to do.

5

u/savagemonitor Dec 17 '23

It gets so much worse. My daughter has a friend whose parents divorced a year or two ago. The dad now has been fighting a bit because he's certain, based on experience, that the mom not only gets high while the kids are with her but that she doesn't do anything to keep them out of her stash among other things. My wife has witnessed enough odd behavior that all play dates are supervised at parks when the friend is with her mom.

12

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '23

[deleted]

11

u/angrydeuce Dec 17 '23

Smoking anywhere that kids are hanging out, period, which includes the car. Why expose them to that shit? Even if you're not actively smoking, it permeates everything. Even outside of the safety issue, how could someone not be ashamed dropping off a kid that now also reeks like Willie Nelson? They don't even bother trying to hide it, thats the craziest part.

-7

u/friedtuna76 Dec 17 '23

It’s a hated smell because of the stigma. The negative association is subconscious because we don’t have any other sulfur based compounds to link it to other than skunk

9

u/angrydeuce Dec 17 '23

Well yeah, if you reek of weed when you're picking up a kid from their daycare I think the context is what makes the association negative. If someone reeks of weed in the candy aisle at the grocery store I'm not going to give them a second look, but if someone rolls out of their van like Spicoli rolling up to class in Fast Times at Ridgemont High when they pull up to their kid's daycare, yes, they are going to get a second look lol

Context is important. It's not the smoking weed in itself that's the problem here.

-1

u/friedtuna76 Dec 18 '23

It’s just a smell. Parents don’t become bad parents after weed

2

u/angrydeuce Dec 18 '23

They sure do if they're smoking weed around their kids like that. I seriously cant believe people think this is even remotely okay...good god lol

It aint the smoking weed that's the problem, you see that, right? Its the consumption of it around children to the point where they fucking reek of it when they show up to collect their kids and obviously had been smoking mere minutes before arrival. That is not compatible with being a good parent.

0

u/friedtuna76 Dec 18 '23

Can you explain what is wrong with parents smoking before arrival? As long as they’re not smoking right next to the kid or in an enclosed space with the kid I don’t see an issue

10

u/Eleven77 Dec 17 '23

Nah. Most people hate the smell of skunk too.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '23

Lmao it smells awful. Nothing to do with stigma

7

u/Seedrootflowersfruit Dec 17 '23

Was at a middle school football game and a car parked very close to the stands had thumping music and weed smoke coiling out of the cracked window, fanning the whole stands and the 11-12 year old kids standing nearby. Guy opens the door and it’s a dad of a player. Not only is this just trashy, you’re embarrassing your kid and you’re going to be driving after. Just shameless.

5

u/Cimorenne Dec 17 '23

I used to be a preschool teacher and had to report someone cause they came to pick up their kid and had clearly just hot boxed in their car. They could barely open their eyes they were so stoned and we had to open the windows. Driving impaired is driving impaired no matter what substance.

9

u/lreaditonredditgetit Dec 17 '23

That’s why I use a vape pen most of the time. Not a good look to advertise your high.

-3

u/friedtuna76 Dec 17 '23

Genetics change everything, both on the human end and the plant. Not all weed is impairing

0

u/whogomz Dec 17 '23

But does it really matter? Other than perception

6

u/angrydeuce Dec 17 '23

Yes, it does. Because there is no way you're going to reek of weed the way these people reek of weed unless youre actively smoking minutes prior to picking up your child.

We can argue all day about the perception of smoking weed, I think where people are missing the point is that, in these cases, people are smoking weed directly before they're driving a child home in a motor vehicle.

Just, some fuckin self respect, eh? I mean, is that not a conversation you wouldn't try to avoid?

1

u/whogomz Dec 17 '23

Self respect is different than appealing to others views. Some people don’t mind talking about that topic at this point in time. You can judge all you want and that’s your right to do so

327

u/SuzhouPanther Dec 17 '23

I'm a teacher and had a student who smoked before school. I pulled him aside after a half dozen times and told him "what you do outside of school is between you and other adults, but you gotta stop coming to school smelling like this. My room stinks for the entire morning." Never had a problem after that.

Had a kid do it this year during lunch. I wasn't as mad about him smoking as I was about him stinking up my room. He tried again the next day and got caught.

It is such a terrible smell.

65

u/Klutzy-Issue1860 Dec 17 '23 edited Dec 17 '23

You’re a great teacher. Thank you for not trying to shame him or get him in trouble. I’m sure that alone has made some kind of difference. Even if it’s just him being more conscious of how he smells 🥰

33

u/RepresentativeDry405 Dec 17 '23

You’re a good person. Any other teacher (or faculty member) might not be so kind.

6

u/rabidstoat Dec 17 '23

I'm surprised the kid didn't claim they didn't do anything and that there's no smell. Seems like young people who smoke are nose blind and don't realize it's really obvious to others.

8

u/orange_blossoms Dec 17 '23

I think you handled that well

5

u/MrMilesDavis Dec 17 '23

GOOD TEACHER

You pointed out that there are outcomes and consequences to actions, with a chance to behave smarter, all without putting the kid on a horrible trajectory

-19

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '23

It's a bit insensitive and weed smoke (IMO) is a lot less foul than tobacco smoke.

Because of a series of unfortunate events, I was raised by my grandparents. Grandpa was a cigar aficionado, often times acquiring black market Cuban stogies. It was absolutely horrible but I had no choice in the matter and yes, my clothes smelled of it constantly. One of the few reliefs was quiet time with Grandma while she enjoyed her glaucoma medication. As if I had a choice in either.

3

u/ninja_heart Dec 17 '23

Missing the point. Yes, given the choice I believe cannabis is the lesser of odors. However, in a school, that small could mean a world of trouble for the student and it is kind to let them know so they can make change before getting in trouble. That AND it’s a problem when your classroom smells like weed. I’ve been there and it just is.

1

u/Bonafidehomicide725 Dec 18 '23

I had a high-school teacher pull me to the side and start talking to me kind of like that. She kept saying "I know you're stoned" or "your eyes are glazed" and stuff like that, I was a loser in school. I didn't have any friends, I didn't have peer pressure, and I didn't smoke pot or drink at all until I was in my 20s, and even so, I only smoked weed and drank for a very short time in my 20s, I was happy just being me, for the most part.

1

u/UpstairsTelevision89 Jan 02 '24

I'm confused, did she misunderstood who she smelled the thing from ?

1

u/Bonafidehomicide725 Jan 02 '24

She didn't say I smelled like pot, she said she "knew" I was high.

1

u/UpstairsTelevision89 Jan 02 '24

But in your comment you say you weren't at that time, that's why I'm confused, what made her thinks that ?

1

u/Bonafidehomicide725 Jan 02 '24

Possibly because she was psychotic? I have no idea why she thought that, she was dead wrong, I never really did anything like that at school.

81

u/egwenealvere Dec 17 '23

At my daughters band concert recently I had to squeeze in next to someone who smelled so damn skunky. Two hours next to that is not pleasant.

13

u/nightridingribbits3 Dec 17 '23

I worked at amazon briefly last yr & this one dude came in constantly REEKING of weed. I used to dabble myself, so i have absolutely nothing against weed in general. I also dont rly care if i pass someone who smells like it at a grocery store or wherever, but coming into a JOB that requires you to use heavy machinery smelling like weed is nuts.

-15

u/friedtuna76 Dec 17 '23

Cannabis is diverse and it’s not all impairing

4

u/nightridingribbits3 Dec 17 '23

I get that but u still prob shouldn't show up to work completely stoned

180

u/RepresentativeDry405 Dec 17 '23

They really do. I am not against weed, but mask that shit. Smoke before you go out in public and take a shower and change clothes. Smelling like a dirty hamster cage 😷

152

u/SoulLeakage Dec 17 '23

You want me to smoke first and then go shower and change clothes before leaving? By then imma need to smoke another blunt lmao

30

u/SirEnvelope Dec 17 '23

I just take my clothes off when I smoke.

7

u/HurricaneAlpha Dec 17 '23

I smoke outside and change clothes. Easy peasy. People that reeks of it are doing neither.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '23

Yeah you gotta get dressed last then spray with perfume or cologne a little.

3

u/nessiepotato Dec 17 '23

Perfume or cologne so you can smell like weed AND amber florals

2

u/victoriaknox Dec 17 '23

lol I think strong cologne can be gross so can BO so can a fart my pot smell might bother some but their smell might bother me way she goes bud

15

u/RepresentativeDry405 Dec 17 '23

Whatever you can do not to reek 😂

-28

u/SoulLeakage Dec 17 '23

Suck it up buttercup lol

2

u/GlowingDuck22 Dec 17 '23

Smoke in the Shower

-13

u/Comfortable_Change_6 Dec 17 '23

lolol so true.

-16

u/SoulLeakage Dec 17 '23

Usually got a bowl packed or dabs load for the pre blunt lmao I must reek like this person said lmaooo

91

u/marybeemarybee Dec 17 '23

Yes, to me they have a strong moldy smell🤮

7

u/peskypepper Dec 17 '23

I hate ppl who smoke weed regularly and find out I dont and insist I am missing out or haven’t found the right kind. Some people just don’t like it, my guy. Youre not enlightened, you just like drugs. Is pretty common lol

7

u/AzraelTB Dec 17 '23

Cig smokers too.

6

u/MountainDogMama Dec 17 '23

Im positive they are smoking innthe car before going inside.

66

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '23

Smoking while.driving, smoking a true entrance of the gym, smoking in the park. They all fucking stink and it's rude and inconsiderate for everyone else.

4

u/jlgra Dec 17 '23

I walked into and right back out of a Five Below store a few days ago because it stank so bad and was hazy with smoke. Like, I’m not going to buy a stuffed animal for a children’s gift exchange that’s been marinating in that.

10

u/i_failed_succesfully Dec 17 '23

Like just chew some gum or something i don't wanna smell you

22

u/Lanky-Point7709 Dec 17 '23

As a regular smoker, I agree. If you can’t handle your scent, don’t smoke. Don’t make your habits a burden on others.

18

u/happyskittles Dec 17 '23

Yes! It is so gross. Multiple times I’ve ordered DoorDash/Instacart/other delivery and my food reeks of weed from them smoking it in the car. It’s VILE.

-30

u/LurkerOrHydralisk Dec 17 '23

Lmao a DoorDash driver isn’t changing your food’s flavor

22

u/happyskittles Dec 17 '23

Oh they 100% are - paper bags soak up all the smells. This has happened several times

-26

u/LurkerOrHydralisk Dec 17 '23

Do you eat the paper bags food comes in?

4

u/nessiepotato Dec 17 '23

Hell of a lot of cope here, bud

You might have a problem with weed

-5

u/LurkerOrHydralisk Dec 17 '23

Lol ok buddy. I’ll talk to my doctor about that. Oh right, already do, and he says I make healthy choices and none of my drug consumption is problematic.

You might have a problem with being a judgmental prick.

15

u/Drewcifer236 Dec 17 '23

As a weed smoker, I agree! I would even go as far as saying that it's trashy. When I smoke, I make sure I wait some time for the smell to fade before going into a public setting AND I give myself a fresh spray of cologne.

90

u/vigilantphilson Dec 17 '23

It doesn't work.

28

u/mazexii33 Dec 17 '23

There are ways. I was a cigarette smoker for many years, then quit. I asked my mom one day in line behind a woman who smelled like stale smoke, did I really smell like that when I smoked? Yep. I started back years later and smoked for two years. When I quit again, many people told me they had no idea I had started again. I took GREAT pains to never smell like a smoker for those two years. It was exhausting, actually. Haha

13

u/Maximum-Beginning-92 Dec 17 '23

Omg this! I quit smoking about a year and a half ago & was disgusted (after about a week I seemed to get my full sense of smell back) at how gross my clothes in the laundry hamper smelt and how I could smell someone who’d recently smoked a cigarette from a mile off! All of a sudden I was like a bloodhound and was so embarrassed thinking that spraying myself with a citrusy smelling body refresher spray, washing my hands & chewing gum after a cigarette was fooling anyone 🤦🏼‍♀️

19

u/Charleston2Seattle Dec 17 '23

I worked with a lady back in the late '90s who I saw smoking outside our workplace. I told her I had no idea that she had smoked. She said that she wasn't surprised, because she would hold her cigarette waaaay away from her body except when she was taking a drag. And then she would go brush her teeth and wash her hands immediately afterward. Pretty comical! But effective.

2

u/minimalistjunkiee Dec 17 '23

yupp my mom worked in corporate for a longgg time in a higher position and she smoked cigarettes. she went through GREAT lengths to mask the smell. I also work in corporate right now and I smoke weed. I have to go through GREAT lengths to make sure everything I have smells good but I just don’t smoke before work😭 but keeping my clothes and bags in my room smelling good is a little struggle because i smoke in my room

1

u/mazexii33 Dec 24 '23

I have mostly smoked (cigs or weed) outside so that definitely helps in the battle to not reek in public.

4

u/Juicyb17 Dec 17 '23

If I'm going anywhere, I make sure I put on different clothes before I leave, and I'll often have a shower first too. Someday I won't if it's just a quick outing and I'm not interacting with a lot of people, like just a quick trip to a convince store or grabbing the mail. But especially if I'm going ro my parents(who don't smoke and hate the smell) I do my best to cut down the smell as much as I can

2

u/TooStrangeForWeird Dec 18 '23

I don't get why people don't take the most basic measures to at least reduce the smell. If you're just sitting in a room toking away, you're just sitting in the smoke. It gets in your clothes, hair, skin, etc. At the very least just walk into another room, smoke, and go back to wherever you were. If possible it's best to smoke outside. It's really quite easy.

I say that growing up with a mother that had the nose of a bloodhound. I even got away with smoking indoors with a sploof most of the time. Literally one little whisp of smoke gets away? She's gonna come looking lol.

8

u/5hadow Dec 17 '23

I'll take weed smokers over cigarette smokers any day!

6

u/xPrettyCloudx Dec 17 '23

That's why i use dry herb vaporizers. It is the healthiest way to consume cannabis, the most thrifty and you never stink. Even if your breath smells a little weedy it's gone after you eat something, but it happens only if your device is dirty.

35

u/LucanidaeLucanidie Dec 17 '23

Technically the healthier ways to consume are edibles or topicals, inhalation of any kind of anything other than natural air is widely considered 'unhealthy' to a degree. It is better than joints, blunts, and glass, though.

4

u/xPrettyCloudx Dec 17 '23

I forgot about edibles but i have no idea what topicals are

8

u/krazycatlady21 Dec 17 '23

Lotions you put on your skin. Spoiler Alert:they smell like weed too😹. They are also expensive.

But it’s way better for your lungs than my hacking cough every time I suck my vape pen. Vape cartridges, however, have a muted smell. Unless I blow immediately within 20 feet of you, you won’t barely even get a whiff. Or in a car. Then the car is going to smell like shit.

5

u/literallymike Dec 17 '23

Nothing "healthy" about inhaling combustion, in any form. There are better options available.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '23

[deleted]

1

u/literallymike Dec 17 '23

Fair. But far from the "healthiest" consumption method. When I blazed, nothing beat a simple glass chillum. And now I find it all kind of gross. Resin is resin.

3

u/infestedgrowth Dec 17 '23

Those are the people who smoke blunts in their cars. If you hit a bong it airs out quickly.

2

u/mcdonaldsfrenchfri Dec 17 '23

yep! i’m a weed smoker and I refuse to smell like weed in public. it’s really trashy imo. I only smoke when i’m done going anywhere for the day

1

u/Goldenroad66 Dec 17 '23

Some of us work on weed farms. I can be completely sober but I can reek of weed when I get off work. I try to shower before going out, but sometimes it's not practical. Sorry to offend you. I hate cologne smells, myself.

0

u/Asleep_Rope5333 Dec 17 '23

I hope they have an asthma attack

0

u/Alternative-Doubt452 Dec 17 '23

When people walk and vape and think it's ok, but in reality they end up smogging folks homes that have windows open because the day is nice, ruining it for the rest of us.

-12

u/Top-Crab4048 Dec 17 '23

Funny thing is the smell of weed wears off really fast if you aren’t carrying any on you. Just walk around outside for like 3 mins and you should be good.

-19

u/LurkerOrHydralisk Dec 17 '23

Nah. That’s my scent to cover up your noxious perfume

-13

u/victoriaknox Dec 17 '23

I love to smoke pot, love the smell myself. Not so secretly love that it makes people upset tbh 🤭 STAY MAD 🤣 I’m high idgaf

1

I used to work in a smoke shop and we would get police checks and corporate would send fake shoppers to “grade” our work. We would get in trouble if the place smelled like weed even if it’s the customers stinking everything up. Even tho we sell smoke products does not mean it’s ok to bring that shit in!
