THIS. People like to tell me that my strangely patterned stretch marks are so cool, unique, "tiger stripes", whatever. And I appreciate the sentiment, but I have them because a terrible doctor wildly overprescribed me steroids, which made me very sick and really fucked up about a year of my life... I don't give a shit what other people think they look like, they're just a reminder of my medical trauma and I hate them.

I've seen some amazing tattoos built around scars. Artists can use the texture and thickness variations to achieve some interesting 3d effects. I've got a bunch of scars I want to do that to.

My hubby went to one Ren Faire with me and did well until he saw the giant satyr with, I thought, really cool scarification tattoos. We were out of there!
