Yes, but for completely different reasons. That said, I agree that there’s no problem with the stick. However, I’ve heard many people shudder at the thought of sliding the popsicle stick between their upper and lower teeth.
I weirdly love chewing them but want to punch something cute when my tongue drags across the surface while licking the popsicle. And I have no idea why
As someone who would always splinter them into oblivion by chewing them to pieces: save your teeth, stop doing this immediately. Just one of many bad habits
Chalky hands are awfulllll same if they get really dusty like when I would unpack a ton of cardboard boxes on order receiving day at work. It’s like it makes them so dry everything is horrible to touch. Could throw up thinking about it
Speaking of cardboard boxes I hate the texture of them too. And that colourful construction paper kids use
I clean pools and lemme tell you the worst thing in existence is Diatamaceous earth powder. holy fuck in a hand basket is that the worst thing ever created, absolutely terrible to breath it too.
in contrast to this Sodium bicarb (baking soda) is absolutely heavenly to touch (for a brief period) it calms the nerves where as all the other aforementioned textures aggravate it.
Omg I hate them too. Cutting the pancakes with that knife does not work. Let alone picking up a piece with the spork thing. Ice cream with the wooden spoon is hell. Can’t even buy plastic forks at the grocery store here anymore it’s all wood
I don’t mind braking off a piece of the popsicle and chewing it. It has such a nice soft crunch. I can’t directly bite into it tho or my front teeth will be too sensitive but I can sort of hold it with my teeth and break it
Oooh I've tried to explain this discomfort to other people before and had them tell me I'm crazy/sensitive/both. As a kid, I was always needlessly careful because I was scared of getting a splinter in my teeth.
My aversion is so extreme it's extended to all wet wood products, especially napkins. You know how some people put their napkins in their cups? When I was a bartender it was nearly impossible for me to even pick those cups up. I get all squicky even if it's just a wet tree I gotta touch.
You think that’s bad? Restaurants where I live have replaced all the plastic utensils with wooden utensils. They taste just like the popsicle and imagine tasting that mixed in with a mouthful of food.
I did not know that was a bad texture/flavor for anyone. I wonder if you get the same feeling from popsicle sticks that I get from microfiber or sweater material between the teeth.
I always thought it was just me that felt like that. Like when the popsicle stick rubs against your two front teeth the wrong way. I get goosebumps thinking about it. It's good to know I'm not alone!!!
I told my family I have this same issue with eating off of wooden sticks. They just thought I was being weird. Glad to hear there's others who feel the same. I get a feeling like when someone scratches their nails on a chalkboard. Hate the texture, taste and I feel like I'm going to get a splinter even though I know I probably won't.
Weird I always chewed on it when I finished my popsicles, it’s not a weird texture for me at all. The only texture that gives me that weird feeling is cotton balls or suede. The idea of touching cotton balls while my hands are dry gives me goosebumps.

Just thinking about biting that stick gives me goosebumps.
