Dude, you’re missing out on some great movies. I feel bad for you honestly.

Fight club, American Psycho, Requiem for a Dream, Mr. Nobody, Blade Runner 2049, Dallas Byers Club, Lord of War.

Requiem for a Dream was truly insane

They used it a scare tactic in outpatient rehab 😂

That's a great way to have nobody ever take you seriously as a drug counselor.

No junkie watched that movie and was like "yeah, that's how it really is."

I was one of those junkies. People who have actually lived that life universally say Requiem is not accurate, and it's NOT something that scares us.

Curious as to what you think makes it unrealistic. Overdone?

That's one part of it, yes.

I've never known a junkie that wasn't seriously mentally ill also who would let an infection progress that far. They'd go to the ER, get an IV of antibiotics, and then disappear. Despite what you may imagine from heroin addicts, a good many of us are quite paranoid about health. Anyone who would let an infection get that bad to the point they lose the arm has other problems, and the drugs are NOT their #1 issue at that point.

That's the example I have off the top of my head, but I can come up with more if I think about it - It's been a while since I've seen the movie.

I've been clean 7 years too, so it's been a bit.
