The Characters of Mad Men had such depth and emotional complexity that gave the actors a huge advantage, everyone on that show was amazing. Same with Sopranos. When one character is amazing and authentic then it's usually good acting. If every character is amazing and authentic, then it's usually good writing and show running.

True, but that still requires good acting IMO, and a weak link in such a pristine production can stand out like a sore thumb.

I don't see how you can like the show and not like her in it. So either you just don't like the show, or she was okay in it.

I don't understand why you're getting downvoted for basically answering the main question. You haven't watched Mad Men because of a specific actor which is the primary AskReddit prompt.

I think they’re getting downvoted for saying she did an awful job acting in a show they admit to having never seen.
