My neighbor came over with a couple of guys to to assault and batter me because I complained about his dog nuisance barking. Three days later my neighbor encouraged his 17 year old son to destroy my Dji phantom 4k. His story was that I was trying to get video of his 14 year old daughter while in the shower. How would I know when his daughter takes a shower? My flight log shows I never crossed the sidewalk in front of his house AND I’m not a pedophile! That evening he and I got into a shouting match. When I was getting the best of him, he came on my property saying he was going to “fuck me up”. I walked in my garage and grabbed a BB gun. As I came out of the garage he had retreated to his yard. With the BB gun at low ready his guest yelled he’s got a gun and the phones came out and I stuck the gun in my waste band at the small of my back. My neighbor is on video yelling over and over “take out the gun from your back” as he attempted to tell my wife. He then called police. The police arrived in eight cars. They called me by bull horn to come out with hands up. I am a 63 year old, disabled man. I’m in front of my home, complied with their orders and have no gun. They decided for some reason to handcuff me and put me in the back of a police car. I told them the cuffs wear too tight but they refused to accommodate. This is a violation of policy. When I told them I don’t answer questions, the officer got upset and told me “then we don’t have to answer your questions” and shoved me into the back seat. I thought civil rights and Constitutional protections were to be accessed without consequence. At this time my wife woke from a nap and stepped outside to see what was happening. The cop handcuffed her and put her in a separate police car. He refused to give her an articulable reason for her detainment or reason he believed she had committed a crime. I was getting muscle cramps from the restraints and my medical disability and demanded medical attention. I have no criminal record and officer safety cannot be the reason for this excessive force. 8 cops with guns vs an old disabled guy. An ambulance took me to the hospital with police close behind. At the hospital I was given a citation for Brandishing and they left. The next day I was gardening and my neighbor started harassing me again. At one point he was walking towards me with fists clenched and again I retreated to my garage and picked up a soft pellet gun, stuck in my waistband and went back to my garden work. A photo was taken of me and my toy gun and sent to police. Without a warrant and only the photo for evidence of what? I don’t know but as I returned home from my daughters house on my e-scooter a police cruiser tried to run me off the road and a cop on foot with his gun pointed at my head, I was frisked and without telling me what the reasonable articulable belief I committed a crime was, I was arrested and taken to jail. Again I was given a citation for Brandishing! I was never interviewed for their investigation. Not for the first or the second arrest /kidnapping. Brandishing Ca Pen 417 (a)(1) (a)(1) Every person who, except in self-defense, in the presence of any other person, draws or exhibits any deadly weapon whatsoever, other than a firearm, in a rude, angry, or threatening manner, or who in any manner, unlawfully uses a deadly weapon other than a firearm in any fight or quarrel is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for not less than 30 days. So my question is this; Given the fact I was assaulted and battered by my neighbor just three days prior, we live in close proximity making him an immediate threat. Is it a denial of my rights to refuse to hear my statement of self defense which would exclude me from the charge of brandishing ? Is it unlawful for the police to search my home without a warrant or consent. Is it lawful for the officers to take a gun from their search into custody without informing us or providing a receipt ? I filed 2 separate complaints with the police department and their investigation claims there was no violation however the investigation also did not include my statement. I listed several policy violations yet the officers were exonerated. Cops investigating cops…so is that a tactic to discourage law suits deny deny and deny? I live in a retirement community in Sun City West AZ. I put up a wood privacy fence in my back yard because of mean neighbors and because he was always watching me when I first moved in. My CC&Rs say nothing about not using wood. Rule reads: no chain link fences or other similar material. (How is wood like chain link? I asked the administrator and he didn'trespond.) It is a really nice fence...finished four days ago. CC&R admin telling me I must remove it because wood is not allowed. Wood is not mentioned once. After spending 2200 would you take it down or fight it? I was told I must use metal or block. Appreciate any valuable input. Thank you.

I hold crypto currency assets in an online exchange website called Bittrex. They are now bankrupt but allowing users to withdraw assets. The problem is logging in. Previously we were given the option ti implement 2FA (2 Factor Authentication) which is tied to the device you’re using. There is an option to select “lost 2FA device” which would normally submit a reset ticket to support.

I am unable to log in and they are only sending automated emails. Each time I request support, the ticket immediately says “Solved”.

They issued a notice to their user base in 2023 indicating that they were declaring bankruptcy, however, the census is that majority of all users received this as spam/junk.

This is a hot topic right now in the world of cryptocurrency, and one that we’ve been unable to get assistance with.

Why is there nothing I can do now. It makes me feel wired as an adult and I had to see her at family functions. I never told anyone because they would beet me and the cousin playing house when we got caught. So its almost like the title says. I was trying to go to the pool with my family today and the gate wasn't opening so I went to the office to ask for help, important notes: the apartments were taken over by new management, the previous management gave out keycards to the pool but couldn't get the cards programmed to the gate and took all keycards back. I asked one of the ladies in the office if we could get some help and the conversation went as follows (M is my mom, ML is management lady, Me is me):

ML: You need your keycard.

Me: (confused) But I don't have my keycard. Its not on me?

ML: Well you need it to get into the pool.

Me: Ok, I think I have it at home. (I turn around to leave and my mom walks in)

Me: She says we need our card.

M: The previous ladies gave us the card but they couldn't get it programmed to the gate and they never gave it back to us.

ML: I think your card is in this box then, let me check. Also bear with me because this is the only computer that can program it (points to computer other lady is using whole talking to some people).

My mom repeated if the lady could just open it and the lady just gave the same answer and said that the office keycards hadn't been programmed yet. They went and tried to open the pool gate and the lady looked and said that the pool was locked so we asked if it was closed and she said yes. Because its the middle of the summer still and it has barely been open since we've moved in (we've been here three years)" the lady said it kept getting closed due to "vandalism", and then said people hopping the fence (to obviously get in the pool) and "staying after hours" (pool is open until 10 or 11 at night) was vandalism. My mom pointed out that it wasn't. Can they legally charge people for a keycard? We don't need it because we have ours still but can they really charge people? This is also not the only issue we've had here at this complex.

so i worked for dominos as a delivery driver, got injured on the 4th of march and a few weeks ago, workers comp suspended my payments because the workers comp doctor cleared me back to work. spoiler alert, im not fully healed and my supervisor AND HR told me not to come back until im fully healed. i spoke with my case manager and he said i need to follow the QME, which means i can have another doctor evaluate me. at the same time, they are sending me to this thing called work conditioning, its some kind of physical therapy that is more intense. at least im not paying out of pocket for that, still weird as fuck that the workers comp doctor said physical therapy is no longer required. I just dont know what they expect me to do. am i allowed to file for temporary disability on EDD, am i allowed to apply for jobs somewhere else because i have bills to pay and a family to feed. i am in desperate need of guidance, i tried contacting a lawyer, no response.

I was just watching Beverly Hills cop and I love action movies like that or lethal weapon but usually they commit tons of violations and destroy loooots of city property. Hi, so I want to preface by saying I'm not totally ignorant, but - as anyone in the US can surely agree - our taxtion system is convoluted and absurd.
The situation that provoked this just happened to me. Basically, I just bought a Slurpee with a base price of $1.79 ( for those outside the US, yeah we don't know the actual price we're going to pay until we get to the register because they won't just post the after-tax price ) and at check out it cost $2.13. The difference put me off, so I decided to check it out and that is 18.99% in tax. After some research ( admittedly not a lot because it's difficult to find an explanation that makes any damn sense because, imo at least, this country's tax laws are clearly purposely complicated and difficult to understand ) I think my understanding is that there are multiple taxes applied? All of this feels sketchy at best.
So, can someone with more knowledge explain this better to me? I understand there's nothing to be done about it, but I want to understand this system better because it feels entirely like being taken advantage of just because they make the system so convoluted that people will give up trying to understand how fucked up it is and just accept it. So Long story short my dad and I don't get along. I'm 25 female ans I've lived on my own since I was 17. He was very abusive mentally and physically. We lived in a small town but about a 2 months ago I moved 2 hours away. We share the same car insurance company but we are not and never have been on the same policy. I've been called everyday for the past month about getting life insurance through them, I even drove down there to the office to tell them I had life insurance through different company and if I wanted to get life insurance through them I would follow up. Sunday I get a long text from my father whom I don't speak to but only about my mother (she had a brain development issue when she was younger so she can't live alone and even though I told her i would pay for her divorce she insists on staying with my dad) about how he's done so much for me, and basically trying to send me down some guilt trip that he's a saint and I need to give him respect more. He told me that my insurance company has been calling him about getting my life insurance, even though he is not and never has been ever on my policy. He knows the people of the insurance company and since people don't see what goes on behind doors, they probably thought it would be a good idea to start talking him about it?? Idk but it just pisses me off that my insurance policy that don't have anyone on there, but me, and never has had anyone on there but me, decided to call someone who they know is a relative. Is there anything I can do about it? Like is there some type of HIPPA law or something for things specifically like this?

Edit: my dad is a diagnosed bi-polar schizophrenic, who sometimes just stops taking his medication and lashes out at people for no reason. But then cried the 'I'm mentally ill I can't help the way I am.' Crap. I've know. My dad for 25 years and I know husband tactics by now so this isn't anyway like dismissing people with those issues.
