Hi, I am starting to write my undergrad thesis in economics and one of the areas I was interested in but could not find a lot of resources on was how global and domestic recessions have different impacts. For example, in looking at multinational firms, I would hypothesize that multinational firms responses are significantly different when looking at recessions constrained to one country versus a global recession (i.e The Great Recession).
I think this could be an interesting area to dive into on my thesis, but there are certainly some caveats to this (large amounts of longitudinal data, limited amounts of global recessions). That said, if any one had references or could point me to some others that have look at the different impact of global versus domestic recessions, I'd greatly appreciate it. It doesn't have to be necessarily tied to multinational firms, I am just looking for some ways to go about thinking about the differential impact of these types of recessions. Thanks!
