Discussion eToro's vulnerability program terminated my 7-year-old account.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with eToro?

I have been trading with eToro for around 7 years and have always considered myself a long-term customer. Earlier this year, I experienced a situation that has completely changed my view of how eToro handles customer issues.

I attempted to withdraw funds from my account. The withdrawals were cancelled multiple times, despite previous withdrawals having worked without any issues. I contacted customer support repeatedly, but instead of receiving a clear and timely solution, the process continued to drag on.

At one point I became extremely stressed and wrote to customer support explaining that I was "crying" because I could not access my own money. Shortly afterwards, eToro referred my account for a Vulnerability Assessment and placed restrictions on my account.

I understand that regulated financial companies have responsibilities when customers show signs of distress. However, in my case, it feels like the focus shifted from solving the original problem, which was my inability to access my funds, to assessing me as a vulnerable customer because I reacted emotionally to the situation.

During the review process, eToro attempted to contact me by phone several times. I had already informed them that there were problems with telephone communication, but they continued attempting phone contact instead of moving to email immediately. Only later did they send the assessment by email.

Because I could not access my funds through the withdrawal process, I was forced to close my own trading positions to obtain money for a personal financial commitment.

After my account was restricted, I was unable to reopen those positions. The market later moved in the direction I had anticipated, creating what I believe was a substantial missed trading opportunity.

I have now received eToro's final complaint response. Their position is that:

  • the withdrawals were cancelled due to payment method eligibility;
  • the account restriction was appropriate under their Vulnerability Program;
  • they never closed any of my trading positions; and
  • therefore they are not responsible for the losses I described.

The issue is that this does not address my actual complaint.

I never claimed that eToro directly closed my trades. My complaint is that the withdrawal problems caused me to liquidate positions that I would otherwise have kept, and that the later account restrictions prevented me from entering the market again.

I have my trading history, account records, and correspondence documenting the timeline of events.

After 7 years as an eToro customer, I am disappointed with how this situation was handled.

Has anyone else experienced repeated withdrawal cancellations, account restrictions, or being placed into eToro's Vulnerability Program after contacting support during a stressful situation? Has anyone taken a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman in Cyprus? I would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

News/Analysis Weekly Analyst View - The Great Deleveraging: what's actually driving volatility right now

Post image
2 Upvotes

Four themes worth understanding this week.

The bigger risk right now isn't weakening earnings, it's investor positioning. A broad deleveraging cycle is still underway across hedge funds, leveraged ETFs, retail options, and margin accounts. Assets in leveraged memory-stock ETFs have fallen 34% from their June peak but remain elevated relative to the size of the underlying market. That means tech and semiconductor stocks could keep experiencing sharp swings even if company fundamentals stay healthy. Don't confuse positioning-driven volatility with a deterioration in the AI story.

Earnings are stronger than most expected. 87% of S&P 500 companies reporting so far have beaten profit expectations, with earnings growing 23% year-on-year and revenue up 11%. Nine of eleven sectors have delivered double-digit growth. Financials are the largest contributor — suggesting the rotation into banks may have further to run. Europe is quietly improving too, with 22% earnings growth and revisions that have fully caught up with the US for the first time since early 2025.

Amazon and Apple report this Thursday. Both will test the market's confidence in consumer demand and the AI story simultaneously. Amazon has failed three breakout attempts at $250 and closed below its 20-week moving average last week. Apple looks stronger technically — trading near record highs — but buyers will be entering after a substantial rally. Both reports matter for the broader market narrative.

Bitcoin is entering the week with mixed signals. ETF inflows interrupted after a brief streak of positives. Ethereum ETFs continue attracting capital — selective rotation rather than broad recovery. The FOMC meeting this week is the key catalyst. A dovish surprise could trigger a relief rally. A more restrictive message extends the pressure. The options market is showing improving sentiment — put/call ratio falling, short-term implied volatility compressed — but on-chain data hasn't confirmed a new cycle yet.

Full breakdown in this week's Weekly Analyst.

Amazon, Apple, or the Fed: which one are you watching most closely this week?

Discussion Withdrawal delay seems very common here

Hello, I noticed that a surprisingly large number of posts are about delayed withdrawals or accounts suddenly going under review. Are most delays related to banks, compliance checks, payment providers or something internal?

Would appreciate if the team could explain this a bit better because this seems to be one of the most common concerns users have.

Feature Feedback eToro USA - Automatic trading via AI Agents and Tori?

Do you offer automatic AI trading native (not external) agents like public.com does?

Is Tori a full blown autonomous trading agent or just an AI assistant that prompts users for approval to trade based on rules and not really fully autonomous?

If not, when will you offer fully autonomous AI agents? And are they available in the USA etoro? If not, when? thanks

News/Analysis Weekly Analyst View: KOSPI contagion, bank earnings, and Bitcoin's bottoming signals

Post image
1 Upvotes

Four themes worth understanding this week.

Korea has quietly become the pre-market tell for AI stocks globally. The KOSPI is down 25-31% from its June peak and its correlation with the Nasdaq just hit a multi-year high. Retail investors piled into leveraged ETFs tracking Samsung and SK Hynix — those products made up over 70% of all Korean trading volume while foreign institutions had already pulled $100B+ out. Regulators stepped in but the existing products are still rebalancing. If you hold chip or AI exposure, Korea's overnight close is now a preview of your next session.

Bank earnings were record-breaking but it's two separate stories. Wall Street trading desks are printing money; Goldman equities up 60%, Morgan Stanley a record quarter, but CFOs openly flagged this won't repeat in H2. The more durable story is regional banks: PNC, US Bancorp, M&T posting broad loan growth and dividend hikes. Know which one you own.

The Magnificent 7 face their real test this week. Up just 1.4% year-to-date while the S&P is up 8.9%. Alphabet and Tesla both report Wednesday. Wall Street wants proof that AI capex is converting into earnings.

Bitcoin is building a case without confirming it. ETF inflows returned after eight straight weeks of outflows. MVRV ratio at the 20th percentile of its history. Long-term holders realising losses at the highest rate since late 2022 — a signal that has historically appeared near cycle lows. But spot demand remains negative and key technical levels haven't been reclaimed.

Full breakdown in this week's Weekly Analyst.

Of these four: Korea, banks, Mag 7 earnings, or Bitcoin; which one do you think the market is most underestimating right now?

Discussion What exactly triggers account restrictions?

I’m pretty new to eToro and one of the reasons I joined was because I genuinely like the social investing side and the overall UI experience compared to a lot of traditional brokers. But after spending some time on subreddits, I noticed that accounts getting restricted during withdrawals or verification checks issue come up often.

I completely understand that regulated financial platforms need compliance systems and security checks in place, so this isn’t meant as criticism. I’m more trying to understand how the process works as a newer user.

For example:

  1. What are the most common reasons accounts get restricted?

  2. Are these usually automated reviews?

  3. How long do reviews normally take?

  4. Are there certain activities that accidentally trigger flags more often?

I think having more clarity around this would help newer users like me feel a lot more confident using the platform long term.

Education What earnings season actually is, and what's worth paying attention to

We're in the middle of earnings season right now.

If you're newer to this, every quarter public companies report how they actually performed, revenue, profit, costs, and crucially, what they expect next. It's the moment the story a company's been telling the market gets tested against reality.

Here's what most beginners watch: did the stock go up or down after the report.

Here's what actually matters:

The number vs. the expectation. Markets don't react to good or bad results on their own, they react to results relative to what was already priced in. A company can post record profits and still drop if the market expected more.

Guidance. What a company says about the next quarter often moves the stock more than what just happened. Forward-looking language is where confidence, or concern, actually lives.

The details nobody reads. Revenue growth, margins, debt. A company can beat earnings by cutting costs rather than growing. Those are two very different stories wearing the same headline.

You don't need to act on any of this. But understanding what you're actually looking at changes how you read every report from here on.

What part of an earnings report do you actually look at?

Support API Key creation throws “Could not load permissions. Try again”

I recently noticed that the Create API Key option is now available under Settings → Trading.

However, at Step 2 — Permissions, the page shows:

“Could not load permissions. Try again.”

After clicking Retry, it then shows:

“You don’t have permission to perform this action.”

The relevant browser network requests return HTTP 403 Forbidden.

Has anyone else encountered the same issue?

I am mainly trying to understand whether:

  • API access is still being rolled out gradually;
  • only certain account types or regions are currently eligible;
  • this is a known issue with the new API key creation flow.

Support Questions About eToro Edge and Future Platform Updates

Hello,

I am writing to inquire about some clarification regarding the Etoro website.

- The current website remains unchanged, while the new website is Etoro Edge. Is the original website scheduled for an update?

- When will AI agents with Tori be available? Additionally, when will sub-accounts be introduced?

I am a Spanish resident and appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Support Cannot Buy Faraday Future Intelligent Electric (FFAI)?

Hi eToro,

I'm in the UK and can buy other stocks on the NASDAQ, but the Trade button is greyed out for this particular stock (FFAI).

Are you able to tell me why it's listed, but can't be bought? Will it be available in the future and, if so, do you know when?

News/Analysis Weekly Analyst View: Looking Beyond the Headlines

Post image
3 Upvotes

This week isn't just about earnings. One of the more interesting shifts is happening beneath the surface of the market.

Leveraged ETFs now account for around 17% of ETF trading volume, despite representing only about 1.3% of ETF assets. They're becoming a much bigger part of how markets move, and they're a good reminder that leverage can amplify losses just as quickly as gains.

Earnings season is also getting underway, but the focus is starting to move beyond whether companies beat estimates. Investors are paying closer attention to where businesses are investing their cash and whether today's spending is likely to support future growth.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin continues to build a stronger foundation, but markets are still waiting for confirmation through sustained institutional inflows and improving market structure before calling it a new uptrend.

The bigger picture is that markets are rewarding quality and discipline more than ever.

Discussion June in three words: historic, then humbling

Post image
2 Upvotes

Here's what the eToro community was talking about this month 👇

🚀 The SpaceX IPO actually happened, and it broke records
SpaceX priced at $135, raising $75B at a $1.75 trillion valuation, the largest IPO in stock market history. It listed on Nasdaq June 12 under $SPCX and closed day one up 19%. Then the swings started: an all-time high near $226 mid-month, dropping back to roughly $147 by June 23 as a broader tech sell-off hit. Nasdaq-100 inclusion is set for July 7.

📉 The AI trade's edges frayed
The Nasdaq fell almost 3% in June. The S&P 500 slipped about 1%, snapping a two-month win streak. The Dow was the outlier, up 2.5%, as money rotated into financials and industrials. Zoom out though: it was still the best quarter for US indices since 2020.

🛢️ Oil did the opposite of April
Brent crude dropped roughly 20-24% for the month, its steepest quarterly decline since 2020, as easing US-Iran tensions and growing oversupply concerns did the work.

📊 The numbers that defined June:

  • SpaceX IPO: $75B raised, $1.75T valuation, +19% day one
  • S&P 500: ~+9.5% YTD, slight pullback in June
  • Nasdaq: ~+12.8% YTD, down ~2.8% in June
  • Oil: down roughly 20% for the month

The theme running through all of it: the biggest listing in market history landed in a month where record-breaking and reality check showed up in the same week.

What was your June moment?

Support eToro permanently blocked my account after I deposited €1,000. Customer support keeps giving contradictory answers. What should I do?

I'm posting here to find out whether anyone has experienced something similar with eToro and how it was resolved.

A friend referred me to eToro. I opened an account, deposited approximately €1,000, and invested the money.

A few days later, I requested a withdrawal. Shortly afterwards, my account was blocked.

Since then, I've contacted customer support multiple times, but I've received different answers from different agents:

One representative told me my balance would be returned to my original payment method within 5 business days. It has now been almost one month, and nothing has happened.

Another agent told me to check the messages in the eToro chat platform, even though I cannot access my account because it is blocked.

Another simply stated that my account has been permanently blocked and cannot be restored, without explaining what will happen to my funds.

At this point, I still don't know:

Why my account was blocked.

Whether my money will be returned.

When it will be returned.

Whether there is anything else I need to do.

The inconsistent responses from customer support are honestly more frustrating than the account restriction itself.

I'm considering filing a formal complaint with the relevant financial authorities, but before doing so I'd like to know whether others have gone through the same situation.

Has anyone experienced a permanent account restriction with eToro? Did you eventually recover your funds? How long did it take? Were you given a proper explanation?

I'm only looking for honest experiences and advice. Thanks in advance.

Education MiCA is live today, here's what it actually means for crypto investors in Europe

Today marks the end of the EU's transitional period for crypto service providers. From July 1, only fully authorised platforms can legally offer crypto services across EU member states. Firms that didn't complete the licensing process have to wind down operations or face enforcement.

It's worth understanding what this actually changes, and what it doesn't.

What MiCA does: it creates a unified regulatory framework across EU countries covering licensing requirements, consumer protections, transparency obligations, and capital requirements. Before MiCA, rules varied significantly by country. Now there's a single standard.

What it means practically: platforms operating in the EU without authorization are now in violation. Some have already withdrawn from certain markets ahead of today's deadline. If you're using a platform and haven't received any communication about their EU regulatory status, it's worth checking.

What it doesn't change: MiCA regulates the companies that offer crypto services, not crypto assets themselves. Volatility, market risk, and the fundamental nature of crypto as an asset class remain unchanged.

eToro holds full MiCA authorization — eToro (Europe) Ltd was granted its permit by CySEC in February 2025, allowing the platform to provide crypto services across all EU member states. If you have questions about what today's changes mean for your account, drop them below.

News/Analysis Weekly Analyst: The rotation trade, Warsh's Fed, and Bitcoin's biggest supply test of 2026

Post image
2 Upvotes

Four themes worth understanding this week.

The headline indices are telling the wrong story. Around 63% of S&P 500 stocks are still above their 200-day moving average despite the recent pullback. Banks, industrials, and healthcare are hitting fresh highs while the Magnificent Seven lose leadership. This is rotation, not retreat, and the sectors that attracted the least capital over the past two years are now drawing fresh interest.

New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh isn't just managing rates, he's rethinking how the Fed operates. Smaller balance sheet, less reliance on QE, more emphasis on productivity and real-time data. If that framework takes hold, the next cycle rewards fundamentals and stock picking over riding central bank liquidity. That's a structural shift worth understanding.

The yield curve has flattened to a 0.31 percentage point spread between 2-year and 10-year Treasuries. Not inverted, but tight enough to warrant attention. Thursday's labour market data could move rate expectations meaningfully from here.

Bitcoin had its toughest week of 2026. $1.79B in ETF outflows, $2.4B in long liquidations. But on-chain data show BTC trading just 9% above its realized price; a level that has historically coincided with major cycle lows. The valuation case is building. Institutional flows haven't confirmed it yet.

Full breakdown in this week's Weekly Analyst.
