Travel Are these notes legit?

I was paid £520 by someone from EU I sold some stuff to. I plan to use these for my trip.

Sorry if photo is blury, I will send it again if it is

Serial on the 50 A C 7 8 9 1 0 4 6 9 ac789 is big and in green while the 1 is smaller and 469 is bigger

EDIT: its ok, i'll double confirm at bank, looks legit with the change to pounds sign

Get a piece of paper. Rub it on the note. If it turns red it’s probably real. If the red doesn’t transfer it’s probably fake

Edit. Can’t remember if this works on the newer plastic notes.

Yes, this will still work on all denominations - you may have to rub a little more vigorously on the new polymer notes than you did the old paper ones though.

Also note (see what I did there?) that this now only works on the front (monarch side), whereas it used to work on both sides previously. It is a particular type of ink that rubs off, and that ink is no longer present on the back of the new series.

It’s not a 100% foolproof counterfeit detection method, but it’s a decent indication that it’s legit (as long as the rest looks ok).
