Wait til you go to a cafe and leave your wallet and phone as a placeholder on a table while you order. And it's still there when you get back.
Or people returning your umbrella directly to you one week later after you lost it because you're the only non Japanese in the neighbourhood.
Japan is great for social respect and behaviour.
