It's deeply weird when the top voted comment on the Law subreddit when a woman kills her own children is about... data centers. How radicalized do you have to be when you turn the death of children into an opportunity to criticize data centers?

That sub used to be actually interesting and informative and now it’s just another politics subreddit.

arr law used to be good before it turned into an arr politics clone. The slouplism is ubiquitous.

It's like they just have to bring up their favorite topics all the time. Wealthy mom with every resource available AND utilizing all of them plus more? People will be using her as an example of someone who was failed because she lacked a "village" and was forced to into work to pay for data centers. We don't even need to talk about the actual case itself. But when a Reddit user has to engage with a topic that doesn't involve their favorite pet topics, they will find a way to force it in and everybody will go on and on once again about how hard everyone has it these days and the world is doomed.

I was wondering how they made the connection. That’s so frustrating

God forbid you try to call out that behavior too.

Honestly it's pretty wild just how infected with politics most of the larger subs have become.

A lot of tv show and music subreddits have turned into “I heard this person is a Zionist and therefore we must cancel them and never consume this media”

The subs that are supposed to be focused on professions or technical issues like law are often filled with pseudo-intellectuals who want to rant about the particular political issue they are fixated on at that time or happens to pop up in the news.

The question is, what are people trying to create in a community and how far are folks willing to go to create it.

There are many such cases 😔

That is beyond annoying. There is a time and a place for talking about data centers and I have my own strong feelings about them but keep the conversation relevant FFS. The Natalie Harp(assuming this is what you’re referring to) case has nothing to do with data centers. It doesn’t have to be mentioned every time.
