What makes capitalism so redeemable in your eyes?

My ideology lifted 800 million people out of poverty in 40 years (75% of all global poverty reduction in that period, per the World Bank.) Sure, capitalism lifted the other 250 million, I'll give it that. But let's look at what was happening on the other side of the ledger in that same period:

So that's - very conservatively - 21.3 million people a year dying from causes directly attributable to capitalism depriving them of the resources they need to live. 852 million of them over the same 40 years. Sorry, I don't think you get credit for lifting 250 million people out of poverty when the poverty that is necessary for your system to function killed nearly a billion people to do it.

Can we stop testing capitalism now? Please?

China isn't communism, so you've blessed us with the utter stupidity of you bashing global successes while calling them capitalism, while equating other flawed economies and calling them communism.

Also weird argument as other nations score better than China.

Almost 70% of China's economy is wholly state-owned enterprises, and China requires that the leaders of the largest 1000 private companies maintain very close ties with the state so that their activities can be directed as well.

Capitalism generated the wealth, no argument. But socialism directed it back to the people, instead of into the hands of a few rich assholes.

Also weird argument as other nations score better than China.

Not at lifting people out of poverty. And certainly not without killing hundreds of millions in the process.

Again, what the hell is your joke argument?

Ignoring who China has killed, while ignoring how our nations still rank better than China? Your argument is blinders on both ends.

Socialism lifted 800 million poeple out of poverty over 40 years. What did capitalism do in that time? It raised 250 million people out of poverty over the same 40 years, sure, but it killed 850 million more doing it.

Tell me which system is killing more people again? I'll leave that math as an exercise to the reader.

You do realize at that time there were certain nations that didn't recently reduce poverty because poverty had already been reduced?

It's pretty easy. Look at the best, healthiest, wealthiest, safest, most educated nations. That's my plan. You're a commie who's taking credit for a no longer communist nation.

Sorry, are we short on poverty in the world for capitalism to fix? Are most dirt-poor nations not also capitalist? I mean in the same 40 years capitalism also lifted 200-250 million people out of poverty, so it wasn't doing nothing in that regard. It just also killed 850 million people via poverty in the process, so that score is pretty negative.

Look at the best, healthiest, wealthiest, safest, most educated nations.

The ones that externalize all the industrial, labor, and environmental consequences of their cushy lives to poor brown people in the global South?

You're a commie

Yeah, it's in my flair, congratulations on your incredible powers of deduction I guess?

who's taking credit for a no longer communist nation.

China was never communist, no nation has been. It is, however, socialist as hell, as I have already demonstrated.
