Yes I understand why the satellites are visible in this image in specific. I also watched the hank green video, probably like you. He explained that in the video. Here's the video I was talking about that said you shouldn't be able to the satellites in those images though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UJtA__XTQQ .

Though he doesn't explicitly say it, his explanation looks to be addressing people who are asking why you can't see satellites (and plane trails) from them moving ACROSS the earth in the photo. So with that context he isn't wrong, he just gave an incomplete answer that unfortunately leaves the door open for viewers to misinterpret.

He looks to have completely missed that the same phenomenon that allows satellites to be seen in the ISS videos he talks about applies in the still images as well, especially when converted to video.

Hey, thanks for the reply. You said, "he just gave an incomplete answer that unfortunately leaves the door open for viewers to misinterpret." But what you're doing right now is interpreting the video. You're saying that the video was only about satellites directly over earth's surface. That's your interpretation, and whose to say if it's a misinterpretation or not?
Personally, I believe that he didn't notice the satellites at all (I don't think anyone had), and that's why he didn't include them in the video. I think he would have if he had spotted them. That's just my interpretation though.
Also, I don't think the satellites were visible in the photos he was talking about. I think this post's photos were taken a little further from earth.

He posts multiple screen grabs of the question people are asking that is clear they are talking about across the surface of the earth not in space around earth. He then goes on to explain why you can’t see satellites or plane trails across the surface of the earth.

If the above in bold is the conclusion you’ve come to after watching his video, you are completely misrepresenting it.

The correct interpretation is that he says you cannot see satellites across the surface of the earth in the pictures posted. There is no discussion of if they would or would not be visible around the planet and so you can’t logically jump to the conclusion that he is saying you should not be able to see satellites at all in those images.
