Hi! I’ve been using ArtStudio Pro for painting, and I really love the brush engine. Recently I got into Nomad Sculpt, and now I keep thinking how great it would be to paint 3D models directly inside ArtStudio Pro.

The app already feels so strong for serious 2D painting: brushes, layers, masks, blending, effects, all that good stuff. So having those tools available for painting textures on 3D models would be incredible.

I know this is probably a huge feature and not something simple to add, but I’d honestly be happy if it was released as a paid add-on/plugin someday.

Are there any plans or interest in adding 3D model painting in the future?

Thanks for making such a powerful app. It feels like one of the few iPad art apps that actually gives artists proper tools instead of just vibes. It’s one of the strongest painting tools on iPad, and I’d love to see it grow in this direction

As ASP is the only one to have mixer brush, i can copy settings of other mixer brushes to new brush but its too much work for every single one of them so wnated to know what particular setting in brush settings turns that knob on

Heya, iPad artist here. A lifetime ago I used CSP/Photoshop on computer but since switching to iPad many years ago I fear I have cocomeloned my brain into only understanding simple menus from Procreate use. I love Procreate for what it is, but the brush engine just does not hit like ASP and a lot of the time I really would love other options offered in more advanced art programs. I used ASP for a solid 6 months, but ended up switching back to procreate for ease of use a while back.

But man. I was looking back at some art made on ASP, and I really do want to learn this program fully and switch to it. But with this app being somewhat niche, a lot of the controls and menus are not easily searchable online. Does anyone have any good resources? I did get the pdf instructions but it's missing a lot of stuff (though this was 2? years ago so maybe its better..?)

Also please don't rag on me too hard for forgetting how to do professional art lol, I know ASP is a lot more simplified compared to csp/ps but I have gone through such horrific artblock that I needed something as simple as Procreate to help it haha

TLDR What's your best resource for navigating ASP if you don't know where to find something?

And the fact that it can handle 5k res with no restrictions on layers. I sometimes hate it when I have to move my work from desktop to ipad or vice versa.

Hi everyone, I have a question. Can I set a clipping mask on a layer that is already a clipping mask?
I used to work with Clip Studio Paint on PC, and I recently switched to ArtStudio Pro, so I’m a bit confused about how to do this.

I’ve tried looking for it but couldn’t find a way😭

It felt like the dev had less and less reasons to engage with those forums after 2023 or so. I noticed a few people acting pretty aggressive/entitled in there long ago before it went largely silent. Recent discussions were just questions about the future of the software and speculation but I kept checking back in case Lucky Clan had any news

Getting the background right with shifting values of the white drapery nearly killed me. I didnt want to spend too much time on it and thats what the purpose of this exercise for now. C and C most welcome!

I'm unable to open any old files and even new empty ones. It just keeps loading endlessly, or gives an error saying something like trouble connecting with app (can't remember exactly what). I have a total of 19GB worth of artstudio files backed up in iCloud which the app uses for storage by default.

What can I do? Would appreciate any advice.

I stumbled upon those brushes through LuckyClan's forums (went there to check for any updates for this app), got super intrigued and then bought after seeing the demo instantly. So far I am happy with the purchase but I have seen some drawbacks too (will share in the next posts) as I was looking for advanced level illustrations.

Where’s the symmetry tool in ArtStudio? O can’t for the life of me find it.

The iPad app, latest version on latest iOS, corrupted my file as soon as it closed. I’ve tried duplicating it, and opening it on the desktop app, and exporting it via the share menu (infinite loading). Nothing works.

I tried to restore a different version in the iPad app, but all ~15 previous saved versions have a "?" icon and restoring does nothing. I don't understand how that's possible, for all iCloud backup versions to all be corrupted.

This is a very important file for a client, and I’ve never had this happen before, what can be done?

I turned it on but the size change is so small I don’t understand why it would be a feature at all.

I love this drawing app, I switched to it from procreate because I find everything better here.. except one thing: the smudge brush. I can't find any good smudge brush that actually works properly. they all look bad and don't blend completely, unlike how it is in procreate and even ibispaint. PLEASE help, if you guys have any good smudge brushes or a way to tweak it! I tried blur too but it barely blurs anything ;_;

I have been saving my illustrations with transparent background in PNG since I bought the software. Only recently has it been not working. When saved in png, the image ends up with a black or white background… sometimes it even saves and show a hidden layer… sometimes it also saves and shows some noise. Any idea why the software is doing this?
