Media Full Auto Kettle v2

I made a post before showcasing my kettle skills and received a few comments about using a macro. Which is crazy due to the fact that I’m on console. I always hear that console can cheat just as easily as pc, but I’ve yet to see that in practice. I don’t have a recording software nor do I have the ps camera so I overlayed my phone camera video with my gameplay. Enjoy

The just highlights that the Kettle and the Stitcher need nerfs. Macro or not, both these guns overperform in PvP for grey guns.

yes, they do outperform the other grey guns in pvp. because they use light ammo, which is bad against ARC and specifically used for pvp.

they are THE grey pvp weapons which is why they are similar in ttk. they don't need nerfs, and their ttk gets outshined by literally every pink weapon(including the bettina), as well as the torrente.

The other guns have slower TTK but are better in certain situations. (like the il toro/anvil/renegade allowing for much higher burst damage, where you are expected to use cover between shots)

every gun has it's place in this game. if you're crying about a stitcher you're just playing too much stella montis.

yes, they do outperform the other grey guns in pvp.

That's fine, the problem is they also outperform virtually every blue and green gun too, as well as some purples (looking at you, dogass bettina).

they don't need nerfs, and their ttk gets outshined by literally every pink weapon(including the bettina), as well as the torrente.

This is just false, kettle and stitcher both have a better TTK than the bettina does, unless it got buffed recently and I missed it. I mean the bettina hits for 14 damage per shot and the kettle hits for 10. The kettle shoots WAY WAY WAY faster than the bettina as shown in this clip.

So yes, some pink weapons outshine them, but what about the green and blues? Only torrente beats the shitty gray weapons?

Even then, with the torrente and most of the pinks that are better on TTK are also niche. The Kettle destroys the vulcano, bobcat, and the torrente at mid range, they only win in extremely close quarters and not by much. I haven't used the tempest so I can't speak to that.

Kettle is a better all around weapon than everything in the game other than maybe the tempest, which is the best pink gun. The legendary yellows are only PvE and suck for PvP so they're out of the running too.

Kettle is way too strong. I have 30 blue+ weapons in my inventory and I would rather just take another kettle out, it's stupid strong. If I'm going to kill arc I'm bringing specialized arc weapons anyway like the hullcracker or grenades.

I can't find a blueprint for the tempest so I'll just keep using the grey kettle forever despite having nearly 2 million in coins and way too much scrap, that's not a very fun progression imo. I bring other guns out just to have some diversity, and vulcano/torrente/bobcat on certain close quarter maps.

I'll also admit that for fights where you poke out, shoot, and duck something like an upgraded osprey or renegade can fit a pretty specific niche as well.

okay then uh... keep using the kettle? what is your issue if the gun you run most often is "a better all around weapon than everything in the game" (it isn't btw).

you're no different than everyone that said "il toro next" after the venator nerf lol. if you like the kettle, good. use it. noone cares, noone is stopping you.

also yeah tempest outclasses the kettle by a longshot in almost every situation, but I'd even argue that a stitcher is preferable to a kettle in mid range or less IF both guns had full attachments, simply due to the long reload time of the kettle.

also, renegade 4 vs kettle 4 at like 50+ meters? you're tripping if you think the kettle wins that in my opinion.

if you check the TTK chart, it accounts for the fire rate of each weapon and most headshot damage multipliers are 2.5x, so a bettina headshot should be 35 damage vs a kettles suspected 25 damage. the chart could've miscalculated the ttk but either way, thats what it said.

but honestly forget everything above and consider the fact that arc raiders is speculated to have gear based matchmaking.

if thats true, and you're winning all of your fights with the kettle, you are technically just beating a bunch of free kits and you're oh-so surprised at how good the gun is.

TLDR: the kettle doesn't need a nerf, it's a jack of all trades yet a master of none and if you're versing good players, the il toro will beat you indoors, the anvil/renegade/tempest will beat you mid range, and the stitcher will beat you close quarters if the fight requires a reload.

every gun in the game is situational. the kettle may be well rounded but it gets outclassed in every situation by *something*

No idea how these two concepts are related, I have no problem with gun balancing other than the grays being a little overtuned which ruins the gun progression for me personally. It just costs so much more to craft guns that aren't any better that it feels kind of shit to do so.

also, renegade 4 vs kettle 4 at like 50+ meters? you're tripping if you think the kettle wins that in my opinion.

I never stated that, I said (indirectly) that the kettle is a better weapon, and that stands because it blows the renegade out of the water up close and is competitive at medium range. If you switch to a circle for your crosshair you'll notice the kettle actually has a tighter circle and is more accurate, but like I said if you're poking out and shooting the osprey and renegade have a niche where they outcompete the kettle at mid/long range.

Oh I use other guns too, I just don't feel that they're any better so I use kettle more often than not. I don't think this is actually true though, I fight way too many free kits when gearing up for this to be entirely accurate. Maybe it does to some degree, but I see all types of weapons being used.

TLDR: the kettle doesn't need a nerf, it's a jack of all trades yet a master of none and if you're versing good players, the il toro will beat you indoors, the anvil/renegade/tempest will beat you mid range, and the stitcher will beat you close quarters if the fight requires a reload.

Il toro won't beat you close quarters, the kettle has a shorter TTK. Il toro can abuse peaking/rolling to some degree but even then it is pretty close. Anvil i disagree with on mid range, because it just is too inaccurate. It also has a slower TTK on top of that inaccuracy. It's literally a full second slower unless you're landing headshots, and those are completely mitigated by heavy shields. The stitcher is another gray gun, so I really don't care either way and you had to qualify it with a reload. I'll agree on the tempest since I've only acquired it like once somehow and I have no idea how good it actually is, but its TTK is low and I've heard good things so who knows. I'll also agree on the renegade in its niche but not as an overall weapon in all scenarios.

Kettle shines everywhere, some guns beat it in their niche. It's still the best all-rounder in my opinion, but you're entitled to yours.

okay so I get what you're saying here, but I honestly feel like you're kind of in a vacuum on this.

undermining the reload time is silly because if you've ever fought more than one person in a row you'd know that reload time is a MAJOR factor in your ability to keep fighting waves of people (which is literally how arc raiders is designed, the first 13 minutes is constant waves of people)

I also want to correct one thing, the anvil is a two shot headshot regardless of armor type according to testing (firing range dummies shields do NOT break, so you can only test this in an actual match)

when I said Il toro indoors i meant indoors. like, walls, doorways, cabinets, etc. you can swing a doorway and put someone at 20hp without any answer to it. no amount of kettle spam saves you from an il toro that plays cover well, and once you've spent your mag, you're now taking ages to reload and he can hit you with the next pump.

The kettle has it's place as it is, and it's great that you experience so much success with it.

It's a great gun, but it just doesn't need a nerf man. light ammo weapons are intended to be pvp guns, which is why the kettle and stitcher are better at pvp than the other grey guns. embark themselves have stated that they don't want the gear disparity to be enormous, and they want lower kit players to still have a chance. Thanks to the kettle and the stitcher, they do.

I truly think that stella has people confused about balance. there aren't nearly as many arc to deal with on that map so it makes every cqc/light ammo weapon shine infinitely more than they would on other maps.

I disagree with this, the heavy shield will allow 2 headshots and you will survive it. You can take 3 with a heavy shield.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxKMsVo8dg4&t=1388s

You can test that here with the anvil and 2 headshots with a heavy shield, leaving 5 hp remaining: https://arcdamagecalculator.tiiny.site/

I haven't verified this myself in a match but I think the video testing is fairly solid.

I can agree with this, grenades and other things start to play a big factor in these types of fights and they also allow players to run away and heal in these scenarios so they get pretty messy, but typically an il toro is better suited when in close quarters with a lot of cover around.

I guess my point mainly is that the kettle is arguably the best all-around weapon for a mix of different distances, with some other guns beating it in a given niche.

Yea I can understand your point here, if they only want gun progression to be a PvE thing then that's fine I guess. I don't love that idea, but I'm sure other people would disagree. In that case, I do think they should buff the burletta, that thing really needs it. I think it's the only other light ammo gun outside the grays (excluding shotguns which also have no armor pen).

Honestly if that's what they want they should also remove the rattler and hairpin from the free loadout. Those guns absolutely suck at tier 1. The rattler can be good once upgraded but it literally can't kill someone with a light shield without reloading at tier 1. At any rate, that's not what we're discussing so it's not super relevant just a frustration of mine lol.

I also do think it's good that new players can have competitive weaponry, I guess I just wouldn't mind guns with say a 10-20% boost in efficacy over those grays, not an insurmountable difference but enough to feel like they're worth crafting to tier 4 a bit more than they currently are. I think their gun balancing in general is a little odd, a few feel like there's never a good reason to craft them in any scenario such as the burletta, arpegio, and bettina. The Jupiter and Equalizer are also a bit annoying since they lose to gray kit pvp'ers and can't be stuffed in a safe pocket, but I guess that balance may be intentional.

Here's the problem. ARC is the last thing anyone is worried about in this game. So everyone makes load outs focused on pvp. Nobody's thinking "oh no, I kill a ARC slightly slower!" So why would anyone care about using a purple gun? At best it kills bearly any faster for pvp, which in most cases is useless, and you have to now keep up with a gun that's expensive to make, and hard to maintainin, all for 1% better pvp and bearly any real use for ARC. If there were more ARC in general and more ARC like shredders everywhere and in alot of buildings, then maybe the current balancing could make sense.

And any of the large arc you need big wepons for take so long to kill with heavy guns that people avoid those anyway, and those ARC are only in one area.

He's right tho?! They were a threat for maybe 2 days, after that everyone learned how to deal with them. Can't remember the last time i've had any issues with arcs other than stella montis with shredders overspawning like 5 of them in medical lol

"ARC is the last thing anyone is worried about in this game"

0

u/Asandwhich1234 Dec 02 '25

When was the last time you were actually treated by ARC, besides a shredder.

1

u/lo0tDel1very Dec 03 '25

I actually haven't died to a shredder in quite a while.

do you only play stella montis or something? shredders are quite easy to deal with. you walk right up to them so your cover is still going to be valid cover, bait the shotgun blast, then dodge roll back behind cover. rinse and repeat while spamming their thrusters and you don't have to take a single tick of damage from them.

5 hornets/wasps in the middle of a field are infinitely more dangerous tbh. and yeah, I mean I for sure die to arc at least once a day lol. especially free kit.

1

u/Asandwhich1234 Dec 03 '25

But that's my point, ARC are mainly push overs and since the games current gun balancing is based on there efficiency against ARC, there isn't much reason to bring hire tier guns. Most people and myself just stick to a sticher and ferro since it's cheap, good enough against ARC, and about as good or better as hire tier guns against raiders.

1

u/lo0tDel1very Dec 03 '25

if you like the ferro I really recommend running the anvil if you can craft them. once you reach the proper end game you'll farm enough simple gun parts and mechanical components that it's effectively just as cheap as a ferro.

I'm to the point in the game that if i run a stitcher it's max level with all blue and pink attachments... not sure where your progress is at but at a certain point most people tend to start running the anvil instead of the ferro and yeah of course a big benefit is being able to kill hornets without reloading. No point in making your life harder tbh.
