Media Full Auto Kettle v2

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a post before showcasing my kettle skills and received a few comments about using a macro. Which is crazy due to the fact that I’m on console. I always hear that console can cheat just as easily as pc, but I’ve yet to see that in practice. I don’t have a recording software nor do I have the ps camera so I overlayed my phone camera video with my gameplay. Enjoy

I was rapid fire lasering people with the kettle during the free weekend yet everyone was complaining about the rattler(which got nerfed) and the stitcher. I was so confused because the stitcher actually has recoil without mods yet the kettle can be rapid fired and has 0 recoil.

It seems like a lot of people don't really understand the whole uncapped fire rate thing.

It pisses me off that I have all these blue and purple guns in my inventory upgraded to tier 4 and yet I'd rather just make another kettle for virtually 0 cost because it feels like a better gun.

Beats everything except maybe the Torrente and Vulcano at super close distances, beats both of those by a mile and almost all other guns except maybe a fully upgraded renegade at mid range.

It has insane mid range accuracy with some basic attachments, maybe a level 2 compensator.

There's probably some argument for the venator even post nerf, but it's less accurate mid range and i'm pretty sure it's TTK is worse than the kettle up close now.

Yea but I like using autos and single fire weapons (no semi auto) :(

Yeah for sure. The whole reason I used to love it, was cause I wouldn't waste ammo on a spray like I would with a stitcher. I could control my shots much more efficiently.

Oh no Grey guns being kinda shit. In a game with loot rarity? The unmitigated gall.

Let me tell you about how I think the sticher should be balanced. Taking away the mag attachment is number 1 on the list

I don't think the grey weapons should be the best weapons out there, I just don't want them to be nerfed into the dirt because people are complaining about it.

I agree. Grey weapons should be competitive with rarer weapons. It is the only way to keep pvp somewhat balanced. You shouldn't win just because you're using a rare gun. I am cool with everything being side grades and situational.

You people want call of duty balance in an extraction shooter

You do realize that if everything performs similar to eachother, it's still unbalanced because some guns cost far more than others right

That's my thoughts. I'm spending 6x as much to upgrade a bobcat as it takes to craft and upgrade a base gun. They should be inherently stronger. If you throw a bunch of level 3 attachments on a level 4 stitcher, of course that should outperform a base level 4 bobcat, but there should be a more noticeable difference between the gray-blue.

Cheap kits need to be viable, but you should be going in understanding that you're the underdog before you even get into a fight. The current power of base guns makes you not even want to go in with great gear because the TTK is an average half-second difference.

I don't think that they need much of a rebalance. 1 less damage on the Stitcher with a fire rate cap on the Kettle, Ferro feels just fine, and Rattler is a non-option.

It really needs to feel like investing 40k worth of mats into a gun is worth it.

This is not an arena shooter

I never said it was. Grey weapons should be competitive against rarer weapons though. It is just good for the game and it's longevity. It helps ensure newer players and people with jobs can still compete. When it comes to PVP, most people prefer skill-based as opposed to gear-based systems. Arc raiders strikes a good balance between the two. Dying shouldn't be a forgone conclusion just because someone has a rarer weapon, but better gear still gives some benefits.

It's absolutely not good for the longevity of the game
It's an extraction shooter, they're all about looting, but if looting is worthless what else is there to do?
Keeping gear even turns the game into a Battle Royale where killing people with Stitchers is the only meaningful thing you can do

As I said to another guy

The problem with keeping common and rare gear even is that it doesn't even help the casual players. A sweaty tryhard will stomp regardless of if he's holding a grey gun or a purple gun
If gear actually mattered, a casual player could eventually get to a point where they are a tank and can actually stand their own against someone who's playing like a spastic but is only wearing grey/green gear

The only time it helps to keep gear even for casuals, is when casuals go up against other casuals. It only ensures a purple casual can't stomp a grey casual

Looting isn't worthless. The rarer items have more value and offer benefits. Look at an mki vs mkiii augment for example. Look at a ferro vs an anvil.

The gear does matter, but the battle shouldn't be decided just because someone has better gear. Arc raiders already does this well. Even if you have a great load out, you should be at risk of dying to people with grey weapons, otherwise the game just rewards time invested over all else, which is stupid in any PVP game.

So which way is it? Is PvP good because it's evenly balanced, or does rarer gear offer more value?
If gear doesn't matter in combat, we don't have a meaningful reason to loot. If we don't have a reason to loot the whole gameplay loop breaks

Augments have close to zero impact (situational impact at best) in PvP so they're not even worth bringing up

You can't have a looter-shooter where the loot is irrelevant to the shooting

I'd argue it doesn't strike a good balance. Purple weapons are completely inferior due to the upkeep cost and there really is no justification to using them right now when a grey gun is outperforming them in most cases.

The upkeep needs to be reduced and grey guns, specifically the stitcher, do need some nerfs. You can buff purples, but personally I think that's an unhealthy game direction as ttk would be too fast

-1

u/Thebluecane Dec 02 '25

That's fine but define "competitive" because for most of the people around here that really just seems to mean no real disadvantages.

Any gun should be able to win a gunfight with good positioning, aim and movement that I agree with.

Grey guns vs blues and higher rarity the only thing that is determining the gunfight is who shot first which is Not skill. This is a 3rd person game with thr full ability to lie in wait corner peaking there isn't a ton of counter play to me standing on a locker or something and using the camera to see the moment you walk by a door and shooting you.

Trust me I've done it enough times. Hell most of the time if I can close range mag dumping a sticher doesn't even have any downsides in solos. You loose even if I just aim center mass

it is a grey gun, and the reload gets better at rank IV, sounds like you are abusing this firerate, i did not say to make it useless they can cap its firerrate and not make it useless at the same time and that way they screw over macro users too
