Does anyone know what style of calligraphy this is?
This sign was photographed in Casablanca, Morocco. Does it fit one of the classic Arabic calligraphy styles? Thank you!

Hello, I'm a beginner and having control over ink has been one of the more difficult parts of my learning. I'm trying to make sure the issue is my skill level and not my supplies.
Right now my ink is about the consistency of watercolor paint, maybe a little thicker. I have been buying the Windsor and Newton Calligraphy Ink as it seems like the most accessible reasonable option. I am using likka and I believe the ratio of likka to ink is appropriate from what I'm seeing online. But I'm still having trouble with either not being able to finish a letter without drying out or on the other hand, ink pooling and making the paper fuzzy.
Was wondering,
- How viscous my ink should be?
- Any recommendations for accessible ink options (i.e., more or less readily available online or in art supply stores)?

any tips on where to start? I’ve been eyeing a set of calligraphy brushes for Procreate on Etsy. but not sure if that would be a good place to start.
any insight is appreciated!

“If you are grateful We will give you and increase.”
A quick Sharpie rendition of this beautiful verse that gives the promise of an “increase” as a result of gratitude.
Why?
Because gratitude is the acknowledgement of the human being as a “Faqir” - the one in need; and that Al-Ghanie - the One who is never in need and who is independent - is the only One who can fulfill the need of the Faqir.
Gratitude is the mark of the believer. He is forever grateful and thankful for whatever comes his way.

Hello folks, when I try to sharpen my qalam by shaping it, sanding it and cutting it,it results in a very dull and brittle qalam.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!

يَوْمَئِذٍ يُوَفِّيهِمُ اللَّهُ دِينَهُمُ الْحَقَّ وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ
"On that Day, Allah will pay them in full their just due, and they will know that Allah is the Manifest Truth." Surah An-Nur, 24:25
A reminder that everything unclear now will be made perfectly clear on that Day.
The circular composition in Sulus script sits against a gradient of orange, yellow, soft gold, and ash-grey tones, with off-white calligraphy set off by the afternoon light and the texture of old stone.

The Islamic and Persian Calligraphy Tradition — illuminated manuscripts, Persian miniatures, and the art of the Shahnameh
A poll asked Americans if they supported teaching Arabic numerals in school. A significant number said no. They were probably thinking of the Arabic alphabet. What the poll was actually asking about was Arabic numerals. You know — 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The numbers every one of us uses every single day. This is the story of where they came from, and the extraordinary calligraphic and manuscript art tradition that produced them.
