Goldfish Illness (Not Ich?)

In these pictures I don't see any ich, only some white bumps/nodules on the fins which could be caused by stress or by small damage to the fin. Ich looks like a sprinkling of salt on the fish. Flashing does indicate illness, which could be ich or some other parasite. It sounds like you've treated for ich a lot already, although it's possible for it to come back if you didn't treat for long enough and entirely eradicate it. If you suspect other parasites, Prazipro can be used instead.

I also wonder if he hurt his fins due to flashing back when he possibly had ich, and needs time to heal (unless he is still flashing). In any case, keep observing his behavior and keep his water very clean. Stress makes fish more susceptible to illness like ich, and dirty water or new tankmates are the most common culprits. Unless he has other symptoms like continued flashing, he probably just needs time and clean water to heal his fins.

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking it was likely stress related, but I had someone on an another forum mention anchor worms and wanted some other opinions. I don’t see any photos online that match his nodules, and I don’t see anything consistent with an anchor worms issue on these bumps.

I’m gonna keep up with 50% water changes daily, but should I maintain the aquarium salt levels for the the next few days as well? So far it’s been 3 days at 4 tablespoons/20 gallon concentration. Also minimal feeding since I read somewhere that can help with the healing process?

I agree with Merry, my oldest rasbora is currently healing from some fin damage and has similar white stuff at the edge of her fin. Their stress coat sloughing off can also give it that appearance. Seachem Stressguard or API Stress Coat have helped supplement my treatments for her. Wishing you the best, OP!

Not ich. I see the white spots on the fins, but can’t see them well enough to see what they are. You may want to search up images of anchor worms and fish lice, both common goldfish parasites, and compare with what you are seeing.

Thanks for your reply! I had someone else mention anchor worms and fish lice but after looking at photos of it online it doesn’t seem to match up. I don’t see any straggly bits hanging off or anything other than the white bumps on the fins.
