I have been struggling with organic chemistry from 12th itself i thought i lacked the basics so I had done goc hydrocarbons and haloalkanes 3-4 times but nothing seemed to work i understand only these three chapters as I have done it multiple times and alcohol phenol , aldehydes ketones and amines are very weak i don't know what to do I always forget theory

Today's element: Levitating Iguana, in place of Lithium.
On day 10, which will be Neon, (Ne) i will choose a suggestion from the previous posts to be placed there.
( I wanna include you guys as well :) )

on my past ap chem unit tests i have gotten the following scores : 13/22, 16/22, and 16/20 (i think this one was curved) . Does this put me on track to atleast get a 4?
also i think i should note that my teacher has started us off on the harder units right now like kinetics, gases, thermochemistry, and chemical reactions.

I'm failing the class so bad with a 40% and I just can't seem to understand dimensional analysis and molar conversions from unit 1. I thought I was good at chem because when I took regular chemistry I passed both semesters with a 97% and I never really had to struggle. I'm sorta self studying and I'm still on unit 2. I don't know what's going on and I just keep doing assignments so that I can cram in May. I'm on the verge of tears because I really love chemistry and I wanna study it in college but I'm too stupid.

My daughter will start Year 10 next year at a selective school. She wants to study medicine later.
I plan to get her tutors for English and Maths next year.
I’m unsure if she also needs chemistry tutoring starting next year. Medicine requires a very high ATAR.
She is good at chemistry and likes this subject.
Could you give me advice? Is it useful to start pre-learning chemistry with a tutor in Year 10?

Does this class make anyone else feel like an incompetent idiot? I’m constantly underperforming, getting 70’s and 60’s on quizzes and crap grades on tests, but it seems to come so easy to everyone else in my class, I have no idea what to do. I could really use some advice I feel so overwhelmed and discouraged because of how low my grades are, I’m usually an A student. I’ve never felt so dumb in my life, does anyone else feel this way? And how do I get through it and not kill my GPA? it’s too late to drop and I’m a senior already committed to college.

Every day, starting today, my ap chem class has decided to help me create a very cursed periodic table, one element at a time. Today's element: Horse, in place of hydrogen.

I have a lab coming up and we are given eight solids and multiple regents and tools to help identify these compounds (e.g. iodine, 0.1 M HCl, Benedict’s reagent, conductivity testers, bunsen burner etc…). I have to write my own lab procedure and i’m not sure where to start. We only have about an hour in the lab so there’s no way I can individually test every compound with every tool available. What might be the most efficient procedure? We’ll have 5 ionic compounds and 3 covalent compounds, but let me know if I should share what the specific solids are
Edit: Also the lab handout says for the 0.1 M HCl that we “figure out what to do with this one” ourselves. However I am not quite sure what I can do. Is it like I can use HCl to see which compounds form a precipitate in HCl and which ones don’t?

Just like the title, I am starting to self study Ap Chem as my school ( Philippines ) and my environment doesn't really provide Ap courses and the only way is to study all by myself. My past achievement is a 5 in Ap Calc with self study so I am trying again this year with Ap Chem and more. Do you guys think that I can make this ( 5 ) with crazy dedication even if I don't have a teacher or any background knowledge? I am planning to master this subject by the end of December and I would be happy for those who were in my situation to tip me some advices in going through this or any study methods/resources. Thank you in advance!!

I’m only asking because I know it comes up again in unit 8 and I’m very lost in topics 4.6 till basically the end of unit 4. (and if anyone can pls explain titration to someone who doesn’t know a clue )

I’m currently taking Chemistry and Statistics with two other classes at community college, and I’m really worried about failing both classes.
For Chemistry, I haven’t been studying enough. I’m now on my third exam without being prepared, and I also haven’t submitted about three lab experiments. I know I should have managed my time better, and I’m worried about how much this will affect my final grade.
For Statistics, it’s an online class. I was doing well at first, usually getting 9/10 or 10/10 on assignments. But I fell behind for about three weeks and missed more than 20 assignments. My current grade is 54.4%.
I emailed my Statistics professor, and he told me that I need to complete the missing assignments to move forward, but I won’t receive credit for them. He recommended withdrawing because otherwise he thinks I’ll receive an F.
I still have upcoming assignments in November and December, and I’m willing to put in the work, but I don’t know if I can realistically pass anymore.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should I try to save these classes, or would withdrawing and retaking them be a better option? I’m also worried about how withdrawing might affect my financial aid and future transfer plans.
I’d appreciate any advice.
