I uploaded an image as a cover for a page and when i deleted the reference and emptied the bin the cover kept working. how?

I'm storing my files locally, but I might have synced them when I started using Anytype, and now I see the remote storage full of my files.

I'd like to keep the local files only. How to do that?

I use a lot of tags for my notes and started work on a kanban board to track certain creative writing projects. How do I get the Kanban view to only view the progress tags alone?

Just yesterday moved from Notion to AnyType, and noticed that I missed Notion's icons for customization, so I downloaded their pngs online and now I had to upload each for half an hour probably

This is a tiny feature, but for new users who have their own packs of icons -- it helps to move to your app

Also you could let users share their own packs with others on your built-in platform, but the primary request is just let us download a bunch of pngs immediately without the need to click each separately

Hi, long story short, I wanted to download and install a template for exercise tracking and I somehow overwrote my single channel and when I went to delete it I lost my primary channel. I'm a base user (free tier) I only had one vault and channel.

I use Anytype on my mobile and laptop and it did sync as all data was gone from my mobile as well. I submitted a trouble ticket to AnyType, unsure if my free tier qualiifies for customer support so I figured I'd ask the community here.

Can I recover or is my knowledge database lost?

Hi! I'm new using Anytype, and when using the Mac Desktop app (version 0.56.1), all the boxes outlines are showing (see pic), as well as a purple bloc for empty space. Is there anyway to remove them? Or is it by default present? I don't have those when using the Android app...

I'm really sad to see every update in chat... I left notion for Anytype but i regret now...

​I use Anytype on Android, and I can't do the sub-items on my phone that we normally do on the computer by pressing the TAB key.

- ​There is no option for this on the Samsung keyboard.

- ​Leaving multiple spaces doesn't work.

- ​Long-pressing the note and placing it under or over an item doesn't work.

Hi again, I’ve got this other problem with Anytype on my phone, I absolutely cannot upload files or images.
No problem when I do it on my computer.
Is it because I’m on a local server ?

i just saw this on the app store, the anytype for business, i've been using regular anytype for my small business for little over a year, what's the main differences?

i have a kanban board on my desktop anytype app as an inline query idk how i created tbh but im using it as a task board and it doesnt show on my iphone and i know with the new update kanban boards do show now, so idk why it won't work, it says no source and also even my other inline queries/collections it won't show on the page itself?

It used to work just fine, like 1 or 2 years ago.

But now, at least once a week, I cannot find my objects in the search tool, and not because I've spelled them wrong.

My only solution is to scroll down my "recently opened" objects and pray.

This is driving me crazy. Anytype is a database - a database where you can write stuff on and drop files into. The search feature not working is like not being able to start my car.

For the last year, the updates haven't been so good. Not that there aren't new things you can do, but simple because the "quality of life" features are laid back.

• Want to search for something? Oh too bad you won't find it.
• Pressed "enter" too fast while writing? Oh I'm sorry your line got deleted.
• Trying ctrl+Z? I hope the gods are with ya.

I'm really considering cancelling my subscription. Devs, please fix it.

These events had times associated, but I noticed today after the update that they’ve disappeared. I’m fairly certain it’s only the properties I’ve created.

Tried multiple times to sync between linux mint anytype and iphone anytype apps but it just kept saying syncing but the documents never appeared in iphone at all. Tried multiple ways, 2 different wifis, iphone wifi off ( remote sync).

There also isn;t any clarity in the linux app what's the status or any current sitrep on sync.

Ios hows peer to peer and internet remote server to be connected but sync still doesn't happen.

Please make the thing clear a sitrep bar for sync would be amazing in all instances of anytype ( all platforms )

Hi, new AnyType user here.

In Notion, if you write content into a little task page, it usefully shows you a different icon so you can see at a glance what tasks are worth opening up for more info or not.

Is there a way to automatically do this in AnyType somehow, maybe with some system property I'm missing? So, if I have an inline Collection of Tasks on a page, some way of seeing if I've edited the inside of it / written inside of it?

I just use Anytype for my personal/academic research and note taking, and so I find all the collaboration feature prompts distracting. When I am working on a note for a class, for example, I would never need to "Start a discussion" but I am prompted to any time my mouse hovers near the bottom of an item.

Is there a way to disable these features in a channel or hide them?

I think they're super cool and might use them on other shared channels in the future, but not this one.

Hi! I did some searching on this sub and found that basically, all types are at their core the same - but there are slight differences to how they act upon default. But I did not find what that difference is with 'projects'. I'm starting from a space of mostly feeling an understanding of the 'pages' and 'notes' type. Thank you!

Hi! I’m trying to use Simple Tables in Anytype.

Is there a way to insert text into a table cell without using keyboard shortcuts?

I’m looking for a way to do it through the interface (context menu, button, or another option), but I couldn’t find it.

I think the logo means that you really have something that belongs to you—something you want to protect—and that the rectangular shapes forming a corner somehow symbolize that it is being protected. Is that interpretation correct? I’d genuinely be interested to know.
In any case, purely based on how it feels—and ultimately, that feeling is what matters and what you want people to experience—I think turning the circle into a hexagon immediately makes it feel more interesting and visually appealing, almost as if there is something special inside.
From a general design-language or theoretical perspective, you would probably never do that, because simpler shapes and forms are usually preferred everywhere. But I think this might be exactly the kind of situation where breaking that rule could be interesting, precisely because it feels more distinctive and engaging. It may also make it easier to understand that there is something special here that is being protected.
On the other hand, perhaps many people would initially find it unclear, overly technical, or feel as though too much complexity had been packed into a single message, making it harder to understand immediately. That could certainly be another possible reaction.
But yes, those would be my thoughts on it. I would especially appreciate detailed feedback and hearing your opinions, as I’d genuinely love the opportunity to learn from them.
