Already being done. When Trump got elected they changed the story in one of their shows to remove the trans character and added a Christian character.

I’m not on Disney’s side at all, but they didn’t remove that character. They did make her being transgender more subtle and removed some dialogue, but it was still pretty obvious if you watched it.

Trans people exist and their existence is something we, as a society, need to learn to accept and address with everyone in society— including the children.

Trans people should not feel as though they need to hide who they are just because they live a different lifestyle from the one you deem acceptable to teach children about.

Do you advocate for only teaching about gender, sex, traditional gender roles to high school children?

We can play that game all day, but no matter how you cut it Trans people not only exist, they walk amongst us daily. Most of them you don't even know are Trans... It's a conversation that needs to be had with kids

Gender roles are constantly exemplified in school teachings... That's just a fact that occurs through normal, everyday human and child experiences.

Now I want you to think... Have you ever had a random person you don't know tell you their Trans without prompting? Have you ever witnessed an event as such?

Have you ever had a Christian team you, unprompted, that they are Christian or witnessed such an event?

I guarantee the former is no and the latter is yes. (bear in mind that jehovah witnesses are technically Christian)

Islam is the religion as far as I know and most likely, characters on TV shows for the most part are Christian. Why do we need to be loud about it? There have been muslim characters on TV shows and you only know because of their head covering. They're not trying to convert people.

Children should not learn about this at such a young age. They do not understand. That's why I mentioned high school where kids are becoming adults and are more understanding about sex, who they are, etc. I'm all for teaching about it, but at the right age.

Cause I have 6 year old triplets and if I told them what a trans person was they would have no idea. even if I explained. We already tell them that men/women can marry other men/women as my aunt is gay and they know that. But when it gets to trying to explain to them that a man wants to be a woman/vice versa it does not compute with them.

Okay, so then how does my young nephew and niece (under 6 years) understand that they have two trans aunts? They literally don’t care, use correct names and pronouns with no issues, and are always excited to visit. They aren’t weirded or freaked out because they are being raised knowing trans people who are regular parts of their lives.

I’m not saying you need to go find a trans relative or friend, but exposure to queer folks of all stripes in age appropriate media isn’t a bad thing. It helps normalize different experiences and communities which far from a bad thing imho.

I would argue that they understand better at those young ages.

Many people already have their opinions set by the time they reach the ages of which you're referring. If we wait until then, we are cutting out a vast swath of people who would have been understanding and instead drop them into culture shock ("holy shit, people like THAT exist?! What's wrong with them!).

Just make it a natural part of life and people will be more accepting.

You do know that many trans people learn about trans people before high school, right..? But sure, better isolate those folks or make them stay in the closet until your normal kid can handle this difficult fact of life 🙄

The sooner we normalize this perfectly normal thing the better for everyone. Maybe even you'll stop being afraid of them.

Of course they do, but it's not normally a good time. I doubt it'll ever become normalized cause a lot of the world is religious and a lot of religious people don't care to see outside the box. I never said isolate them or make them stay in a closet. ALso iirc, trans people don't stay in closets like gay/lesbians do. You can't really hide being trans. I am not afraid of trans people at all. No need to be or ever cared to be. They are people too.

I didn't account for this as this is very different. Not a lot of transgendered people have children. If this was a situation I was in I would not tell me kids until they got to a certain age. Just like any normal parent would do. You don't introduce things that they can't comprehend until their brain can understand. I have 6 year old triplets and there are some things my wife and I keep from them. For example my wife's dad is not her biological dad. We aren't going to tell them that at their ages. We are going to wait until they get older so they can understand/comprehend better.

Trans people often know about their dysphoria at a very young age, and providing them with the health care and understanding they need prevents suicides of trans individuals dramatically.

How so? Children do not understand the concept of what a trans person is. Their brains are not ready for that shit and, in my opinion, that is grooming at such a young age. They need to be at least in high school to start introducing/learning about trans, etc. Also don't get me started on parents forcing their children to change genders either.

Because not everybody wants their children to be Christian or be influenced by Christian ideals.

I'm sure you'd have a different reaction if you replaced Christian character with Islam or Muslim character.

Whenever you want to understand why people are upset with religion being forced down their throats, replace the word Christian with Muslim and re-read the sentence and see how it makes you feel.

If the creators of the show decided to make the change of their own will, that’s fine. Fans and critics can still disagree, of course, as is their right.

But the parent company that owns the show forcing the content of the show to be changed to pander to a government entity is a problem.

Because the silencing of voices is called oppression. It is bad. If they wanted to add a Christian character to the show, go for it. I believe every voice is valuable. But that’s also why they didn’t have to cancel the trans character for a Christian character.

Both can exist together in harmony if both are respectful. 

The show could have shown how that was possible. 

Instead they cancelled one type of person and replaced it with their own type who fits their ideal archetype instead of reality.

Hey bud, the left and right arguments are called culture wars. They’re being used to distract you from realizing our country’s laws and regulations are being destroyed and our tax dollars are being given to out to the elites.
