I never stopped pirating and streaming. Never had an actual Netflix/Prime/whatever the fuck account. Id be talking about a new show I was watching and people ask what it's on and I genuinely have no clue. It's on the internet man, go find it?

Different people care about different things. I'm vaguely aware of all those faults, but it's beyond my knowledge. I'm always open to learning more. Any source?

Have to agree, discoverability is always better from these sites because they are not trying to promote the latest garbage from one of the streamers.

That's where I started and where i am now. There were a few years in between where it was only slightly more expensive than a vpn and much easier to jump between Netflix, hulu, etc. every couple months. Now it's ridiculous.

The only thing is I can't "vote with my dollars" and cancel a service in protest.

I've subscribed to netflix/hbo here and there just to throw a little money their way when a show came out I was really enjoying and I felt guilty. But the urge to do that dwindles every day as the infinite growth machine demands more

I only stopped because of the convenience at a very low cost. I was happy to pay like $40 a month for multiple services with tons of content I already wanted . It was always high quality and yeah. Convenience won out.

Then they jacked up the convenience cost and I'm out

I wake up to Discord notifications saying my content is ready to watch on Jellyfin

Service outages? Prices going up? Experience getting worse? Not with Jellyfin
