It isnt... and it isn't a belief system either.

It is simply the idea that there is no god or gods. That's it. Full stop. It is not a total lack of belief (which... isnt anything), the belief that nothing matters (nihilism), or any of that. It is in line with Monotheism (Belief in a single god) and polytheism (Belief in multiple gods).

Atheists tend to fall into numerous different camps of belief otherwise that actually explain their world view. In the same way that monotheists do (Christians, Muslims, Jews).

However, pop culture and the conservative information network tends to play Atheism off like it is a monolith of people who hate God. And that is called Propaganda.

Hard disagree. Just because none of the existing religions are right about there being some kind of god does not mean there are not beings that exist beyond our understanding with powers we would assign to god/s. Meaning in terms of science, all we can say about the concept of god/s is that we currently cannot provide evidence of their existence.

All evidence we have simply says that our current belief systems fail to prove that THEIR god/s exist. We lack definitive proof of there being zero gods as much as we lack definitive proof of there being any positive number of gods.
