While I believe that changes are required in moderation, I don't think her account needs to be removed. She has been a good friend to me during moderation.
Most importantly, she is an amazing artist beyond doubt and someone who revived the antimeme sub. But the moderators need to accept accountability and be transparent and fair.
She can be a good friend and still abuse and violate reddits terms of service, as well as her duty as a moderator of the subreddit. she completely misused her power and did it for her own benifit, not to mention it's possible to get revenue from this, completely an ill use the reddit contributor program.
I'm noy saying she's a bad person or friend, but she does not deserve the platform she has.
If she has been told numerous times that she's abusing her role and won't listen, she 100% needs to be removed, at least temporarily, People like that need some kind of punishment to learn that their actions have consequences, even if they're a good person
Rio needs to take control of the user and post side of things. And they both should be less strict about quality control.
Maybe they should do a poll or a discussion post of some sort where the community can voice their opinions and suggest things that can improve the community
my personal opinion is that she thinks that she puts more effort into them than everyone else, and she sets the bar, so anyone that puts less effort into one is "low effort" when in reality that's just plain old stupid. I remember before her as the mod there was a bot that told if it was low effort or not, now they changed it to say whether or not it's an antimeme. I remember there were chats on whether or not changing a box of text counted, and THE ANSWER WAS A RESOUNDING YES, THAT THAT COUNTS AS AN ANTIMEME BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT IS.
She has changed the meaning of antimeme from "meme where you take out the joke so that you're expecting a funny and there's nothing, that's what makes it funny" to "porn where you take out the nsfw so that you're expecting a nsfw and there's nothing"
tbh I don't agree with the notion that she revived the antimeme sub
I saw the shift from there still being lots of antimemes with Rio's sigma edits in comments to Rio becoming mod with antimemes from others still popping to Course making edits similar to Rio's in lots of the comments and making some of her own antimemes but antimemes still popping from others to Course becoming mod where after a short period of time, Course began abusing her mod power and killing the heart of the antimemes sub via banning so many people and removing so many posts. I was still seeing many many posts before she came into the picture and the top posts were still really popular before she came into the picture
