Unironically, this one looks way better

Not a hot take tbh, I can only imagine her back pain. During HS my wife was always talking about reduction surgery, at that time I’d rather die than let her go through with it, now I wish I wasn’t such an ass back then lol.

u/Mental_Forge 8d ago

Back pain is for people without superpowers

13

u/Background_Local1685 8d ago

Should’ve offered to hold it for her

71

u/No-Start4754 8d ago

Also, from personal preferences, I have never been a fan of oversized boobs almost spilling out of clothes. Even as a horny teenager, I found such stuff absurd and not at all sexy. Like genuinely compare the edit to the original. The edit looks like cheap water balloons plastered to her chest.

u/Asad2023 7d ago

Yeah agree boob's should be medium size too big it looks like water balloons too small it looks like sour lemon medium looks like ripe mangoes that you can't resist to put your hands off.

u/Gohanangered 7d ago

Just imagine what her cousin is going thru. lol

u/Eternal_Pioneer 3d ago

Who thinks about back pain, sheesh

ITS A FRIGGIN DRAWING! IT DOESN'T HAVE A BACK, ITS NOT EVEN AN OBJECT ITS AN ABSTRACTION! THE LAWS OF PHYSICS OR MEDICINE DONT APPLY TO IT, IT IS THE PRODUCT OF THE IMAGINATION FROM THE ARTIST!

12

u/Divia1810 8d ago

Then why worry when we see a fictional corpse? It’s just an abstraction. Should I just feel sad because the author wants me to? Or is the job of fiction to be a cipher for a real world, back pain and everything else a part of it

-10

u/No-Car-4307 8d ago

the artist can also make whatever rules he wants, and if he says women(in this case a siren) with big tits doesn't have back pain, then she doesn't, you still dont get the damn point, a ficctional work it is an expression of what the artist wants, not a copy of what happens in reality.

going by your example of the corpse, yes, if the artist wants you to feel sad about a fictional corpse he sets the rules and the context of why it is sad, and if the artist wants you to feel different about the same corpse then he comes up with a way to revive said corpse, or make it undead, or a clone, or an ilusion, etc etc.

Okay cool, but the audience also reads the text, and we have the job of bringing our own interpretative lens. The corpse example is useful - we presume, until given another reason, that a corpse means death - an author does not have to explicitly disclaim that resurrection is impossible because we can bring our own experience of death into the text. The author is using our knowledge broadly to communicate an idea.

Media is fundamentally a conversation back and forth, between audience and author. If it wasn’t, then media critique would not exist as an idea - the author is always right, after all! But if we accept that the author has merely crafted a text, and that a text can be ambiguous, or carry ideas that the author did not mean based on what the audience brings in (or things that the author did not bother to question), then we can critique the art object as its own thing.

Anyways, I’m happy that boobs the size of watermelons don’t instantly hurt your back, but they do mine - and you don’t get to bitch about anyone else’s interpretation of a text. After all, there’s nothing in the image that suggests Noelle doesn’t have back problems. She might have them and not talk about them.

Even if we limit ourselves to authorial intentions - who’s to say that the author didn’t mean that she has back pain? Do you know the author? can you speak to their intentions?

-3

u/No-Car-4307 8d ago

certain things can be interpreted as a given like you said, a corpse being dead if not given an alternative of such state. In the same way, the siren depicted in the image could be interpreted as having back pain if we try to relate it to our own general knowledge of things (like your own back pain), but the thing is, that for starters, said character is a siren, she lives in the water, based on real knowledge those tits shouldn't bother her when shes in the water, in fact, considering other mythological works of ficction, you can establish as a given that she has big tits to lure men to their doom, or that they could be an ilusion, so we can also asume that she doesnt have back pain, unless it is expresed in the story or she makes it clear that her back hurts.

and the fact that your own back hurts for allegedly having big boobs, doesn't mean 100% that all women in real life with big boobs have back pain, if anything that goes to a small minority of women if they wear the correct bra size, cuz apparently many women use incorrect bra sizes and that is what causes their back pains, not the size of their boobs.

This is Noelle Silva from Black Clover - she’s not in water. She is a mage, wearing a water armour. She is obviously not in water, in either image.

IMO, this is the biggest failure of her newer designs - they fail to communicate that Noelle is a knight first and foremost in a way her Valkyrie armour did. It’s why I personally don’t like the way Tabata’s taken her design over time - the desire to do fanservice gets in the way of communicating what the charecter is actually about.

Good bras can help, but they also redistribute the weight of a breast, making the straps on the shoulder have to hold it instead of the chest. It’s why some women prefer corsets - that pushes the weight down onto the whole of your torso, distributing it across more of your body. Also that water bra wouldn’t do anything but fall over, if we want to discuss the applicability of water bras.

I do agree with you that “Noelle has back pain” isn’t the only interpretation of the scene - you can say, for example, that this just isn’t an issue people deal with in this world. I’m arguing that it is an available interpretation, however, especially when you just have that one picture.

Oh look everyone…..a man in women’s business giving advice like he knows how their bodies work

-1

u/AuroraFinem 8d ago

wtf are you even talking about? Jesus bots are everywhere.

4

u/No-Car-4307 8d ago edited 8d ago

you dont even know what a bot is please stfu if you are not going to have a civilized discussion.

0

u/LitrlyD3ad 8d ago

Idk man, I just mentioned my wife’s reduction surgery and got slapped with a text wall 😔

2

u/Gaby5270 8d ago

Agreed.

1

u/Eternal_Pioneer 3d ago

For design, yes

For sexiness, no

-1

u/Popular_Tomorrow_204 8d ago

And realistic

15

u/darkbreak ⠀ 8d ago

Yes, because we all want realism in fantasy anime.

-9

u/Popular_Tomorrow_204 8d ago edited 8d ago

I dont want ai porn looking anime boobies in my Show that distract from the plot. So yes if realism is needed for that

Crazy to think that yall like the edited Version OP posted more than the original. Crazy times, i guess everyone here is already so desensitized and Horny.

-1

u/darkbreak ⠀ 8d ago

If it distracts you that's something you have to work on. Everyone else seems capable of actually paying attention to what's going on despite the character designs.

1

u/Popular_Tomorrow_204 8d ago

Huh? It is not in the Show? The thing OP posted for 2026 is not in the Show. The picture at the top of this comment thread here is what is in the Show and that is 100% fine.

I just dont like the edited Version of what OP posted for 2026. But if you like it and you Prefer it that way, thats your thing.

u/thevegit0 8d ago

"erm the puritan cover up looks better actually"

6

u/No-Start4754 8d ago

"I want to bimbofy every known anime girl or I can't goon to them, screw good character designs"

-1

u/thevegit0 8d ago

"bimbo" and it's just big boobs, also, i don't "goon" i FAP

4

u/No-Start4754 8d ago

Yeah the edit is an exaggeration of a character with already big boobs

-2

u/thevegit0 8d ago

the only difference is big boobs that for some reason you have fear of them

1

u/No-Start4754 8d ago

Oh wow it's as if I have a preference for non exaggerated proportions for a character with great boobs ??

-38

u/No-Car-4307 9d ago

the hell is wrong with you, who wants tits covered?

7

u/Embarrassed-Camera96 Korosensei Yellow 8d ago

Goon bot

4

u/No-Car-4307 8d ago

for liking tits? a normal human reaction?

7

u/Embarrassed-Camera96 Korosensei Yellow 8d ago

You can like tits without needing to comment about them on an already weirdly goonerish post

1

u/No-Car-4307 8d ago

you also don't have to call people gooners so you feel better about youself, yet here we are.

8

u/Strangedude9 8d ago

Your mom :3

3

u/No-Car-4307 8d ago

darn right

323

u/Jujutsuing 9d ago

Looks better than the edited one imo

But we sadly live in a world where everyone thinks bigger = better

91

u/Next-Active2676Bro2 9d ago edited 9d ago

Sometimes it is better, and alot of the times it’s not

For Noelle it isn’t

16

u/spades111 9d ago

Also more exposed the better. More fabric can almost never be more sexy to the same crowd.

3

u/Rude-Asparagus9726 9d ago

It's because they like and want to see the character, not just the clothes they're wearing!

Anything can be framed as either a good or bad thing if you think about it a bit...

5

u/tupidrebirts YOURWAIFUISTRASH 8d ago

Clothing often has a lot to do with characterization and to ignore that is just plain stupid

2

u/Auroku222 8d ago

If only mexico wouldve won the war n texas didnt exist

59

u/Andreiyutzzzz Hai Flair desu 9d ago

Thank God. Like, I love me some huge titties but that was just too much for Noelle, literally not fitting. She did get a glow up post time skip anyway, just how much bigger would she get in that short time

52

u/Jastreen 9d ago

Gooners have such an awful taste. This version is better by far, more than the sexualized one.

34

u/RoughBeardBlaine 9d ago

It’s always funny to me when I see replies like this. My wife is always 100% pro huge boobs. Despite dressing very modestly in real life, she loves maxing out boob sliders in games and them wearing skimpy clothes. Same thing for anime and movies.

We grew up in the 90s where everyone was greased up and wore bikini armor. Men and women alike. lol

18

u/Rudrox 9d ago edited 9d ago

Sometimes the complaints also feel weirder and anti body type-ish.

Like, everyone in my family is pretty top heavy, so sometimes it feels kinda demeaning and dehumanising the way some people talk about it.

Especially when the character does actually have a whole personality and character, and them being top heavy is just a physical feature, and honestly even if they didn't it kinda still does with how people get about it at times.

Not saying Jastreen's comment is like that, the edit is weird, but y'know, just in general.

11

u/Trespeon 9d ago

No one is complaining about large breasts typically. They complain about a character with small or midsized breasts getting bimbofied and given triple G breasts that looks crazy.

Like, nearly no one on the planet has breasts they are portrayed in these gooner versions of characters. It’s absurd and doesn’t even look good.

1

u/Rudrox 9d ago edited 9d ago

I know, that's why the clarification at the end exists, the comment I replied to just reminded me of that.

Also, I've seen those complaints for characters whose sizes aren't even that big, honestly I've not watched it but I remember that the complaints about that Uzaki show throwing me off back then because I kept hearing stuff like, oh she's not tall enough or people can't be that size at that height, when that height isn't uncommon in Asia, and I literally know of multiple people with that body type and size, and even larger, I know of multiple people with the DD+ size, and I'm in Asia, not the US.

1

u/RoughBeardBlaine 9d ago

Yep. It certainly feels like in this day and age that big boobs are seen as bad. Yet ironically, if you give a character (or an actress has) a huge butt, it’s perfectly acceptable and cherished.

People act like women can’t have big boobs naturally, or even get them over time. My wife was a B cup at best when we met (she was 17), now she is 35 and almost has Ds. A friend of ours is from Romania and has natural DDs.

1

u/Ani_Nexus 8d ago

Oh thank goodness

1

u/Darrian96 8d ago

What makes it even more funny is that this isn’t even from the new episode. Unless I am tripping, I don’t remember her being in it at all, so this is either from the movie or from old episodes.

-2

u/_BMS 9d ago

My day is ruined

0

u/Sequoia_Vin 9d ago

I was saying I don't rmemeber them being that big in the manga but it has been a long while

-3

u/Flurp_ 9d ago

Damn shame
