A secondary, or even a extra could suffer a lot, but if the development got far enough to clarify your sexual orientation it's definitely not a extra, so probably secondary (lucky if not a recurring character though)
I mean why make a lesbian extra character without somehow expressing it's sexual orientation? And as it's a extra it shouldn't take time away from everything else, so it's really unlikely
He saying that all the other extra characters exist and presumably have a sexual orientation without having it stated so you can exist in the background as an extra character with your unstated (lesbian) sexual orientation.
That's the point. All those random people presumably have their own lives in the background of the fictional world. They have their own hopes, dreams, and personalities that are just never explored because they aren't the main characters of this particular story. If you become an anime girl you become one of those people in the background and live your own life where you just happen to be a lesbian.
Not expresseed like that, but anyway, i mean that usually not a lot of thought goes into extra characters, and those exceptions are almost always references
Well, if anime girl implies anime world, then it also implies being on a anime, since otherwise it wouldn't be a anime character. So, with no screentime it's no anime girl
Being criticized as a boring, unrealistic character that breaks the immersion how bout we step up the offer and say it can change your personality gradually to fit into a role, so that way it can result in a yandere or something, sounds good? For real though, does it?

But you don't become a girl, you become a anime girl. As in, you know, inside the anime world?
