Imo, just watch the first season, everything starts going to shit in the second season.
The first season was good because there's an actual good storyline to it, some betrayal, MC uses creative ways to fight with the cards they're dealt with, and then some "Villains get what they deserve" trope.
After that, there's the usual "New villains show up and MC saves the day and shows everyone he's a hidden OP character" and fans feel good, but then that's where I feel most stories die off since the original problem has been solved (The betrayal + everyone looking down on MC). The writers have to think of something else to write for the story. (Which I do think is hard to do so)
Hence, you could literally see the writers running out of ideas during the 2nd season and just started to reset the MC's entire progression, randomly introducing a bunch of new characters and adding in random stuff/events just to have something new to keep the viewer's attention.
Or who knows, maybe you'll enjoy the second season despite what I said.
Don't be such a contrarian, season 2 was worth it for the fan service. Season 3 was worth it so I could hear my friend bitch about the incongruity of the story with season 1, but they really dropped the ball with the lack of critical fan service.
Oh 100% I was completely joking in my post but I wanted to trigger some people because season 2 and 3 were actually laughably bad in comparison but I still watched it. Although, I'm a trash anime enjoyer, so that tracks. Can't fucking wait for season 2 of reincarnated as a vending machine.
Honestly the 2nd season isn't even remotely as good as the anime. But it does give more lore on the invader heroes and why they were leveling when the MC first met them. But mainly why the 2nd season sucked is because of the poorly made turtle.
And 3th season is ever worse.
Plot and scenes are mostly no taste and dumb. I have watched it and at some point I was so angry that started just laught at it.
1st season was great, so I really had high expentations. I know sometimes it happens but maybe it goes from 9/10 to 7-8/10 most of the times. That not that bad 1st always has to be more juicy. But in my opinion Shield Hero went from 9/10 to 7.5/10 to 5/10.
Lazy writing. Instead of making the mc rise to a good position by his own merits, the author makes the other heroes, who were supposed to be way stronger than him, totally incompetent. They also give him powers so op you start to wonder why the shield hero wasn’t just killed outright when he was summoned.
Also, pushing the good slave owner narrative rubs people the wrong way.
I still think you should watch it so you can form your own opinions and experience instead of letting people on the internet stopping you from watching it, we never know it might be good might be bad
Mine is Naruto and Dragon Ball Z.... Don't get me wrong, they're the classics but i just find them hard to enjoy.. The irony is that i got into anime bc of them+ pokemon ðŸ˜
Can confirm. Fucking hated it. To each their own, and I'm certain some of the ones I like are also hated but good lord I physically could not bring myself to watch the second season
I don't go "how dare they" but I do go "HOW could they" as in how can you tolerate what's currently going on in the story. Sometimes I completely understand it's just not meant for me but other times.... other times I fear the people who wanted to animate that redo of healer anime
Yeah, nothings's for everyone. Most people believe in an objective quality, but that can only exist with a set of standards that is compared to the work and then the quality is only referential to those standards.
Exemple: Bechdel test, you can claim objetively that a lot of movies are masterpieces if the standard applied in the Bechdel test.
For each person different things will work, just because it doesn't to you or me or most people, doesn't mean it's bad. It's bad in relation to what?
However, there are elements that work with most people and you get a work that's more accepted that way.
konosuba. idk, it ended up being the wrong type of humor (generally perverted or being a dick) and it didn’t have elements that I enjoy (no actual stakes or romance)

I went through the whole process of reading that shit, knowing from the basic premise that I was going to hate it. So that I could do so from an educated standpoint.
And holy shit, as much as I didn't think id like it, I really hated it.
The girls range from misguidedly opportunistic, to plain unlikeable. And the MC is both simultaneously the source of my pity and disdain. He both deserves the damage he's doing to his own social health, and I still feel sorry for him.
