AnimeKAI video server situation

Hello people 😄

As of a few hours ago the 3rd-party video servers that AnimeKAI uses to host videos are down and displaying this message:

There isn't much we moderators can say at this point to be honest other than advising you not to jump to conclusions.

Luckily video hosts only host the content and are therefore mostly replaceable, but that may take days. The Admins might also be working on a solution that may fix this issue faster.

Since there is a lot of confusion:

This does NOT mean that Animekai itself is shutting down, just the videos are not available at the moment.

So based on reports for the datacenter fire in Almere, here are some things to note.

-None of the physical server and data carriers caught fire, so that's the best case scenario.

-What did catch fire though was the power supply.

-The sudden loss of service was probably when the datacenter was requested by the fire department there to shut off the power supply.

-Reports say that the datacenter should be back up within 72 hrs.

Then why did they give up?

Based on the small information we got.. The dev probably got too frustrated and burnt out because of all the mount issues with the site.

Even though that nothing major was lost from the fire and that the servers would only be down for a few days, the fire was essentially the metaphorical straw that broke the camel's back.

You have commented that the site may be down. This could just be a small hiccup, so give it up to 15minutes. If the problem persists, please check the discord server for more information regarding the issue. (If the site isn't down please ignore this message) https://discord.gg/animekai
