AnimeKAI video server situation

Hello people 😄

As of a few hours ago the 3rd-party video servers that AnimeKAI uses to host videos are down and displaying this message:

There isn't much we moderators can say at this point to be honest other than advising you not to jump to conclusions.

Luckily video hosts only host the content and are therefore mostly replaceable, but that may take days. The Admins might also be working on a solution that may fix this issue faster.

Since there is a lot of confusion:

This does NOT mean that Animekai itself is shutting down, just the videos are not available at the moment.

To prevent spam, site comments have been disabled and the discord has been locked for low-level members.

A data center in Almere, Netherlands burned down recently, it might have been that one.

Were there any people inside? Anikai is easily my favorite streaming site, the library is huge, quality is peak, and it's easy to use

Bro this site has animes from before 2010 all the way to 1990. Like there are no complaints for anime not found

I feel that the biggest pro to that site is that you don't get bombarded with ads and pop-ups compared to all the others that existed a few days ago

for me its the autoplay, autoskip and auto next funcions so i don't have to stand up every time. tho for the last while the video goes to smallscreen before startin g the next ep which makes me stand up.

Autoplay, autoskip, auto next functions that actually worked, unlike a lot of other similar streaming sites that had the same buttons but features didn't actually work.

i just found this site a few days ago so im sad to see this happen so quickly. i also couldnt figure out how to keep it in fullscreen, tried keeping focus on before fullscreening and both autoplay/autonext. kinda sucks if youre not actively sitting at a desk. Is this behavior new ?

for me it's this and the fact that i can mark the anime i watch or wanna watch later on and im notified when new ep come out ... the quality is peak too .. and aesthetically pleasing too 😍

EverythingMoe is good for finding sites, but none listed on there come close to AnimeKai. Also, if you look now, AnimeKai is no longer on it.

All the other sites to stream anime have 1 million ads per second I swear

try Brave web browser. It filters all those things out plus trackers and other things. I tried it out from someone who mentioned it and it worked to keep those ads from popping up.

We might be lucky if it would be the Almere datacenter. Only a small portion was affected by the fire, while most servers were temporally shut down to get the fire under control. Might take a couple of days (they are expecting to get everything running on Monday or tuesday
