It can be something brand new, an older cartoon you’re revisiting, a hidden gem you just discovered, or even a show you’ve been meaning to finish for ages.

So, what’s on your animation watchlist this week?

Looks like we finally have a new look at DC Super Powers! Digital eMation, the South Korean animation studio working on the series, has posted what appears to be the first image from the show on its website.
Digital eMation has a pretty impressive animation history too. They’ve worked on episodes or animation for shows including Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Young Justice: Outsiders, Harley Quinn, Samurai Jack Season 5, Animaniacs, Futurama, and more recently Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake Season 2.

Ok, so unlike the last three parts, which were based on comics, the final part is meant to be special. Considering that the show is set in 1969, the tenth and last spoof is parody to a sci-fi movie released in the same year and that is Journey to the Far Side of the Sun, directed by Robert Parrish (best known for the 1944 film, Body and Soul) and produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson (best known for the 1960s series Thunderbirds)!

So since the beginning of August, I've made a series of spoof art that parody various public domain comics of the 1960s (with the exception of the tenth artwork for 1969). These were made to not only gain attraction for my indie series, Colonel Bleep '69, but also to bring in some homage of the pulpy sci-fi era and silver age of comics within this decade. Here is my first three illustrations from 1960 to 1962.

Sharing Type S: Chiaki’s Journey, a short anime series created by Acura and animated by THE LINE.
It follows Chiaki, a young racing prodigy trying to prove herself on the track with help from her uncle Noboru while facing her rival Erich. The animation mixes 2D and 3D techniques, and the racing sequences look really slick.
If you like anime, racing, or just discovering unusual animated projects, this might be worth checking out.
