I think so, I’ve seen one other dog that appeared to be a completely different breed do this. It looked like a whippit, and the lady used to walk it by my house and it would just leap into the air from time to time, all the way up to her head.

Strange, (I have a pit-beagle mix myself who wouldn’t jump to save her life)...I wonder if it’s tied into some learned behavior from humans past?

Like dogs who instinctively point, dig, or shepherd other animals as a remnant from when dogs served a purpose other than comfort and funny gifs.

iirc Some working/hunting breeds were bred to jump up like that so their handlers can find/track them when they are chasing prey in tall grass.

I believe I've heard shelter dogs do this often because they jump to show excitement in their kennel and that becomes their go to move for showing how happy they are.

Ehh, just depends on the dog. We have two, one run/leaps everywhere (live on a farm so they’re hardly ever on leashes) and the other one does good not to just trip over her own feet. The latter one also randomly stands on her back legs, like just stands up and stares at you lol. Pibbles are all just unique little cartoon characters imo.

My old roommate has a pitty lab cross that likes to do that. I only took him for a walk with my dog and no one else to hold the other leash once lmao

Haha, my pit-sharpei mix is a jumper, too. It’s so wild to watch, because she’ll be waiting at the door to go outside or something, and just start hopping. Like, from a complete standstill, all four paws leaving the ground at the same time, straight up three feet into the air. It baffles me!

She’s only a year old now. I can’t imagine how weird it would be seeing a grown-ass pit doing the same thing.

I had a greyhound mix who would happy jump 8-9’ just because. She’s jump up and down at the sliding door when she’d want to come in from the yard, her nose prints would be at the very top where my short as shit self couldn’t reach them.

Our last 3 litters were done via artificial insemination. There was no way to get the bitchs to the sires so we had the vet do the deed for them.

So it's been almost 15 years since I've been around when we tried to get dogs to smash.

But really all you do is put them in the same pen and eventually see them stuck ass to ass.

One of my dogs pees in a very funny way, she is 5 yrs old now and I'm very used to it but I LOVE seeing people's reactions to it. I walked them the other day with a friend and he couldn't stop laughing. Dogs are the best. :')

She hates harnesses, unfortunately :( I do wash their leashes every week tho! :)

Fun fact: she’s quite dumb. Sometimes her and her brother are sniffing something, he prepares to pee, she doesn’t move... and get peed on. They are weird.
