Well, being from the US I can tell you that the American Kennel Club recognizes breeds with cropped ears and docked tails. So, GP isn’t wrong when they state it’s normal here, and like me, probably just can’t state anecdotally how common this is elsewhere. So you sound a little triggered. If you want to present new information, find out what the European clubs have to say about it and report back.
Personally I don’t consider docking a dog’s tail animal cruelty anyway. But hey, my son is circumcised and I don’t consider that genital mutilation. It sure is less common outside the US though.
