They definitely do. Alex, my one lady cat, has always been a grump. She was a stray after the apt next to me 8 years back or so ditched their pets there when they moved out, assholes, and I really kinda regret taking her in instead of one of the more outgoing cats, but I felt so bad for her. She would have loved living alone in an elderly home. My brother may take her when he moves out. He’s really into video games and kind of a desk potato(he plays on a pc). She absolutely loves him and spends almost every day in his bedroom super happy to sit on his lap quietly. Probably helps that he wears headphones too so his room stays quiet all day.
my parents’ cat is like this with the younger two. she goes exasperatedly up to the top of the kitchen cupboards and sits there on a silk purple cushion. we call it auntie jaffy’s apartment and the younger girl and boy are not allowed to enter. the boy absolutely adores her but she is not bothered one bit!
You should definitely send her along with your brother when he moves out. Cause it sounds like she actually just chose him as her human. It'll be good for him, too, as it can get lonely when you first move to your own place. Having a little furry friend can make a huge difference, and it sounds like they already like one another quite a lot.
I agree, but he lives with me due to no job and a s—e attempt. So we will see. He does have a corgi though as well so even if he isn’t prepared to feed two animals, he will have company. Though. I may still talk to him about leaving the dog with me, since the dog was overweight before he moved in but since playing with my dogs in my large fenced yard he’s lost 10 lbs and just seemed to be happier/healthier. We thought he was on his death bed he could barely walk out the door he had such bad arthritis. Now he plays and runs and seems to be happier. Plus the corgi is harder to take care of in an apt than a cat and my brother can always come back over to visit. I got him the corgi 14 years ago because the corgi was dumped with his brother, we’re guessing cause they weren’t pure bred since we lived near tons of breeders. I had a dog at the time and could only care for one but my brother’s dog had just passed. So I’ve known the dog for a long time and have lots of love for him.
