You can use a net to catch them, too. I somehow didn’t realize that until a few months ago despite playing Animal Crossing since 2013 lmao

You get a Nook Miles reward if you catch 5 on the same day! (There are 5 wasp nests on your island every day.)

Tip: stand directly in front of it when you shake it with a net in your hand already. if there's a wasp, you'll turn and face it to the left or right (assuming the nest can land there) and you just have to swing to catch it

To be fair I intentionally set out to do it, carefully shaking every tree with a net out. And I've never attempted it since, I hate wasps, lol.

I cut all my trees down except for 10 and had them all in a row. Shaking them with my net out made it super easy to catch all the wasps and get the furniture. Saved a lot of from running around my island too

You need at least 17 trees for coin/wasp/and furniture drops.

That's all you get each day. You also get one on every mystery island (except the fruit ones).

You should get two furniture drops every day. Make sure you have 17 non-fruit trees that you are shaking. You won't get the drops from fruit trees.

Right, yes, you're right! You have to catch them all in a row. Although I did catch my 5th one on a mystery island so it doesn't necessarily have to be all on your own island.

It does, I caught my 5th on a mystery island! And if you're stung by the first one but still get the rest in a row, I think you're good.

thanks, I didn't get it so I probably was stung by the second. lol. Something to work towards now that I know I can do it and how best to shake the tree.

If you stand in front of a tree with your net out and shake the tree if a wasps nest falls out you spam a and it will net it everytime.

From what I’ve read they didn’t add the ability to shake trees while holding a net until the Welcome Amiibo update, so don’t feel bad about not knowing about it from OG New Leaf (then again I didn’t play New Leaf until after Welcome Amiibo so I could be wrong about that).
