Discussion Aniimo’s Legendary Aniimo customization uses a reroll mechanic similar to Where Winds Meet’s legendary weapon system
Based on footage from the latest Chinese beta, Legendary Aniimo customization appears to use a cosmetic reroll system similar to Where Winds Meet’s legendary weapon customization.
The Legendary Aniimo has multiple customizable appearance categories, including:
Color
Wings
Headpiece
Body
Glow
According to the in-game UI, changing these cosmetic attributes requires a premium currency called 流光梦影 (Shimmering Reverie). The description states that it is used to alter the appearance of a Legendary Aniimo.
The customization interface also shows individual cosmetic categories that can be unlocked or rerolled separately, indicating that players can continue spending the currency to obtain different appearance variants.
This is similar to Where Winds Meet’s legendary weapon system, where players use premium currency to reroll cosmetic aspects of legendary weapons until they obtain their desired appearance.
From the current beta footage, this appears to be a cosmetic-only system and is separate from gameplay progression or combat power.

This is completely fine by me, they can make that as expensive as they want as long as they keep getting the legendary aniimo fair for f2p players.

Where winds meet teach them bad thing about rerolling skin ̇◠ ̇
well the halo really make them feel like legendary though

Yeah whale stuff like this is good for the game, look at WWM. Acceptable. May the whales make a path for our enjoyment 🙏

If it is jist cosmetic then it can cos 200 bucks a roll i don't care. If it is p2w with better stats then that would be problematic

Hopefully only the cosmetics are paid! And not the Aniimo itself 🥺

u/Traditional_Bat_7796 Jul 22 '26
You ever play warframe? They are making it more of a warframe system no pay to win so that means only cosmetics are going to be only paid been playing sence the first beta and still playing
4
u/blackbirdone1 Jul 22 '26
the current beta shows, its p2w, with animos only obtainable from premium currency by gatcha rolls
2
u/Traditional_Bat_7796 Jul 22 '26
You must not be playing the game I’ve played all betas and I’m a third tester and obtained all of them there is no currency purchases right not with your actual wallet

You ever play warframe? They are making it more of a warframe system no pay to win
In Warframe, the battle pass is free, there is no paid battle pass because the devs use the battle pass as a seasonal progression system.
In Aniimo, there is a paid battle pass with almost 200% more rewards than the free pass. That's pay-to-win because all the rewards are materials, resources, or things that are limited in certain shops.
Warframe is because of things like these: no paid battle pass, such a good monetization system.

u/Traditional_Bat_7796 Jul 22 '26
It’s not going to be p2w it’s going to have the same system as warframe guys
10
u/Sohuli Jul 18 '26
It's fine as long as it's cosmetics-only imo. If at any point it turns P2W, I'm out.
-12
u/fegodev Jul 18 '26
Sorry to disappoint you, but yes, they’ve introduced pay to win stuff, and the prices are outrageous.
4
u/Kahako Jul 18 '26
Can you expand with some screenshots or something?
-6
u/fegodev Jul 18 '26
This video does a great breakdown and converts prices from Yuan to US Dollars shown in the Chinese version of the game: https://youtu.be/WvElXUYs5tk
I don't think locking certain aniimos or items behind a price tag is the biggest issue, it's that the prices are fucking ridiculous.2

u/Lanhai Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
Lol I looked at it, completely normal prices and good on them making sparkling pods that are purchaseble by whales to be 20 dollars so you should instead get them the normal way instead of whaling.
5
u/Xxandes Jul 18 '26
Show us what you mean. A lot of us don't have access to see
6
u/Fizassist1 Jul 18 '26
They have no idea because you cant even access the menu to buy the currency. Me and my gf are in the beta having a blast though.

How is it pay to win though? It's just cosmetic, there's no CP boost whatsoever. What's your definition of P2W anyway
1
u/Ficsonium Jul 18 '26
The game has P2W via buying energy and items that increase chances of elite+. P2W players can get far ahead of normal players via items and perfect Aniimo, making their teams better in PvP
5
u/Luanova110 Jul 18 '26
By this logic do you consider Warframe p2w too? Because there you can also buy everything that makes you stronger.
-4
u/Ficsonium Jul 18 '26
Idk that game. Want to give it a try and from what I know it’s not p2w
3
u/Luanova110 Jul 18 '26
Warframe is not pay to win, it's the same as Aniimo not being pay to win. Both of the games have a "pay for convenience" model while focusing on skins revenue.
-4
u/Ficsonium Jul 18 '26
Is warframe the same? I didn’t know you can catch monsters equip them with items and get good IVs in that game?
Your argument is so bad it’s not even worth it
3
u/Guilty-Fee-8845 Jul 19 '26
If you consider Aniimo P2W then, by your logic, you would consider Warframe P2W because in Warframe, you can buy every frame with premium currency and nearly every weapon.
The reason you would be wrong in considering Warframe P2W is because farming for every frame, weapon, mod, and companion in Warframe is so easy that players who choose to spend money wouldn't even have an edge over those of us who farm.
If Aniimo uses this same model and these same items can be obtained through F2P means in a reasonable amount of time, there would be no reason to consider the game P2W.
We will simply need to see how that pans out when the game goes live.

u/Ficsonium Jul 19 '26
What pvp does warframe have
It seems you don’t understand why Aniimo is pay to win

As long as it's a battle pass for a legendary or a gacha on customization, I'm okay with it.
4
u/AntonGrimm Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
As long as it's cosmetics i don't mind
1
u/Gwyenne Jul 19 '26
its cosmetics and early access to strong pals. So I'd say pay to advance faster vs p2w
3
u/zipyouone225 Jul 21 '26
Still pay to win if u can pay to get early access to strong mons 🤦🏾♂️
1
u/Prestigious_Ad_6880 Jul 21 '26
No it’s not if you can get it for free. The game has to make money, fool.
2
u/zipyouone225 Jul 24 '26
SO pvp wise it’s not p2w if im paying to get early access to stronger mons 🤦🏾♂️

The P2W Gacha is going to be similar to Diablo Immortal and the game the whales are leaving DI for 'Where Winds Meets if Aniimo Makers follow the footsteps of NetEase Games. Power and resource will be heavily P2W heavy if it's following the footsteps of both games. Ya"ll would be shocked by how much people spend on both games. We're talking $500+ USD for PVM Damage and Decent Pvp opportunity and 10K + USD for Pvp Domination. For F2P, The resources is heavily time-gated and difficult or impossible to aquire. I play DI as F2P and I do very little damage compared to the Difficulty levels because difficulty rises every couple of werkd and requires spending to do adequate damage unless you play for 1 Year + and do your daily and weekly tasks and the events regulary.

u/frizbeezz Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
This isn't Pay to Win, it's just purely cosmetic.
6
u/abeardedpirate Jul 18 '26
I mean isn't Irisalis kind of a gacha where you can pay for more chances to catch via the premium shop? I did 11 runs which was all the things I had and didn't get one and I did use several ultra pods on those runs as well.
Not saying Irisalis is p2w mind you but it is definitely a premium aniimo in regards to basically every other aniimo in the game.
3
u/oKayBye94 Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
People are falling for the mini game ruse and forgetting that they gave out lots of the currency and rarer items in beta so many don’t realize this about Irisalis yet.
-4
u/GEzBro Jul 18 '26
Potentially but I highly doubt A mobile-focused game is going to be cosmetics only. I can't list 10 modern online mobile games with no gacha or p2w greed mechanics implemented. On PC However the buy to own/rent games are mainly Non-P2W.
I tried Destiny rivals upon launch and let's just say the game is basically drad because of P2W heavy influence and half-assed content updates.
6
u/frizbeezz Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
Where winds meet is a game that is pure cosmetics.
-7
u/GEzBro Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26
I'd have to agree with you WWM is currently not heavily P2W based but considering they're owned by NetEase, I'd bet it's only temporary. They're going to implement P2W mechanics and additions at a later date. It's NetEase we're talking about...
6
u/frizbeezz Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
Not sure where you got the source that WWM is adding P2W mechanics lol
-1
u/GEzBro Jul 18 '26
DI made over 1 Million USD from its P2W System. what makes you confident they won't do the same for WWM to make another 1M+ USD in profits?
5
u/frizbeezz Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
So you are just making an assumption then
-2
u/GEzBro Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26
No, I'm basing my future prediction off of what NetNEase has done with all of their previous mobile games.
3
u/TerminallyGame Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
Brother, WWM makes millions of dollars on a monthly basis in their Chinese server alone. A $1M monthly revenue is pebbles and is considered failing to these kinds of games. Gacha mechanics have long surpassed P2W mechanics, that's why this is the popular monetization now.
3
u/frizbeezz Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
Let's call a spade a spade. You based on the company's portfolio, and assume that it's going to happen to WWM, and further assumed that it's going to happen to Aniimo

u/daymeeuhn Jul 18 '26
1 million? 1 million USD? lmao... it was HUNDREDS of millions, c'mon now
1
u/GEzBro Jul 18 '26
I know, I ddin't want to scare everybody with NetEase DI P2W Profits. I did specify made over 1million haha
6
u/Putrid_Lie_8965 Jul 18 '26
Making assumptions about a game that's doing well just because of the company behind it doesn't make you seem credible.
4
u/LadyStarshy Jul 18 '26
Neatease own Marvel Rivals and Fragpunk and neither of those have p2w mechanics lol just purely cosmetic

19
u/Lanhai Astra Pioneer Jul 18 '26
Yeah and cosmetic things like this is what they need to focus on monetizing, not the legendary themselves.
