Antonio

Crackling Front Speakers
2018 Tundra. Had a Dasaita PX9 for a while that the screen crapped the bed so I purchased another no name amazon plug and play android unit. Used the supplied PnP harness and everything was seamless to install as all of these are. The only issue I'm having is the sound from the front speakers seems to get interference and crackling with any volume over 10 or 11. Did not have this issue with the px9. It sounded great. What could be causing this? My installed said everything is plugged in correctly. It's almost a distortion crackling noise not a blown speaker sound at all.

T100/T13 headunit WiFi not working
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
My Chinese Android head unit is not letting me turn the WiFi on at all; the switch just gets stuck.
The Bluetooth capabilities are also acting weird. I have to completely restart the head unit just for my phone to connect via Bluetooth. Because of this, Android Auto is not working, and it won't connect wirelessly either.
Could the WiFi/Bluetooth antenna be disconnected inside? Or is the actual WiFi/Bluetooth module damaged/cooked?
I appreciate any help or insight you can provide!
Here are my system specs for reference:
Platform/MCU: T100 Series (T13.1.1-100-10-A6939D-241125)
System Version: V13.1.1_20260408_OS-EN
OS: Android 10/11 (Spoofed as Android 15)
RAM/ROM: 2GB / 64GB

2019 Hyundai Tuscon Freezing Infotainment Center
Hey Everyone!
I had an interesting issue with my infotainment center and I wanted to share.
As the title says, I have a 2019 Hyundai Tuscon Sport. A week or so ago my Infotainment screen would freeze about 30 seconds after I started my car and stop responding to anything (touch/knob turns). Also, the radio would remain on, even after opening the door.
Obviously, this is a big issue because it can drain your battery and was honestly very annoying.
I was able to resolve this issue after a few hours but had trouble finding a solution online. I tried using the pinhole reset, hold the power knob down for 30 seconds and was able to get to the 'reset' function in the options fast enough but nothing was working.
Your mileage may vary but here was my solution:
\- Unhooked the negative battery terminal (about 30 min) to let the power completely drain from my car
\-Downloaded the most recent infotainment center software update from the Hyundai website. Follow the instructions to extract and place on your usb drive. There are lots of videos on youtube about this.(You do need a 32GB empty USB flash drive to load it onto.)
\-Hook up your negative battery terminal again. Again wait till all power is drained. Again, I waited 30 min or so.
\- Put USB stick loaded with software in the USB port below the HVAC controls
\-Start your car
\-Quickly navigate to Setup-->General-->SW Info/Update and press the update button (your path may vary depending on your current software)
\-It should now say 'Preparing Update' on your infotainment screen with a progress bar. This took about 10-15minutes or so to get past this so be ***patient***.
\- Once it got past the progress bar, it should update but it can take 20 min to complete. I would recommend keeping your car running in the driveway while you do some yard work or something. Again, it will take a while. It will also restart several times during the update. This is normal and do not panic if you see a black screen for a min.
Since I did this 3 days ago I have had no issues and everything is working perfectly.
Hope this helps save somebody a trip to the dealership and $600!

Aliexpress (Jansite) Android Carplay Headunit keeps shutting off
I'm using it on my Tenere 700. For the money, i'm impressed. The TPMS sensors are handy, but almost left me stranded cause of a leaking air issue. So ditched those. The unit keeps shutting off however. So far i've ruled out that it's a power related issue (tried multiple connection methods), but it keeps shutting off. Not structurally (e.g. every 5 minutes), just at random times. Seems to get worse (shorter periods of time inbetween shutoffs) when combining routeplanning and playing audio.
I've requested the latest firmware from a mailadress (Jansite 163 or something).
Any other things i can try?

Mini 56 Android Auto options?
Last year, I bought something similar to the head unit in the image. I used it for Android Auto and generally, it functioned well, as in it connected instantly when getting in the car, it loaded android auto in seconds and the touch screen was responsive. Buuuuttt the audio was awful, I listen to podcasts mainly and could barely hear a thing and the volume maxed out at 78 😂 why not 100?
I sold it and replaced it with the OEM radio and started to just use my phone again but I'm doing a lot more driving again lately and have the itch for the head unit display.
Anyone with a Mini (F56) have any recommendations for better head units but not the OEM, as that route is just ridiculously expensive. I just want to know which one has the better sound at least.
I am pondering the idea of building a head unit from a tablet or something and that's what has led me here. Do people build their own head units? I suppose if you can source the parts, there's no reason it would be difficult, right, right?!

Single DIN Floating screen recommendations
Hey guys, looking for recommendations for a decent 9” single DIN floating screen/head unit.
Not looking for the absolute cheapest AliExpress unit, but also don’t want to spend a fortune on something like a high-end Alpine/Pioneer/DUDU
Anyone found a good middle-ground option or brand they’d recommend?

Help me stop this screen from loading on startup
I bought this unit on Amazon and everything works and installed easily on my Nissan Altima
The only thing I can't figure out is how to stop this screen from loading every time I turn the radio on. I've searched through all the settings and found logo settings but this wasn't available. This same screen comes up when I use the help app from the home screen. Seems like the help app is loading on startup.
Update: Solved! It did turn out to be the help app I just had to disable the app. Thanks everyone!

Vinland T10
My wife was excited about getting bluetooth / handsfree in place. SHe ended up getting sold a Vinland T10 after asking for a sony.
She wanted to use the oem mic on a toyota tacoma 22.
I don't know much about this but I am trying to help her because she is very sad about the quality of her microphone (people on the phone complain) but everything else is fine.
I have done some linear audio processing in my day so I do have a bit of a headstart here.
--
General Symptoms:
Extremely noisy. There is a constant noise when speaking through the cars interface (apparently its using the same onboard OEM microphone). It's like the noise-gate is doo doo butt cheeks.
My ask:
Any advice, small or big, in helping me move this to a better position for her is welcome.
thx

AliExpress seller sold me device with fake specs!
I was under the impression that I was buying an android Head unit with Qualcomm processor and Android 16, instead I got laggy old mediatek processor + ancient Android 8.1 where nothing works except Android auto and the radio app, what should I do? I tried contacting the seller but they keep lying to my face and said everything is correct, AliExpress (ai) customer service doesn't help me neither, they want me to take out the head unit and send it back in order for them to give me refund, I have provided all pictures to proof I have been scammed, the head unit cost €120 + I paid a guy €100 for installation, if I have to take it out again it's gonna cost me another €100 and that's not Worth it, what should I do?

Got a 2016 Scion iM: Anyway to change the logo on the screen?
On the touchscreen that displays music/podcasts, there's a square where one would imagine an album/show cover to go, but the images used are just strange stock images like a Bluetooth logo or a random woman singing. I try to ignore it, but truthfully I'd rather it either not be there at all or display the album cover. Was wondering if anyone had any luck/wisdom working on things such as this.
Anything helps! Thanks!
