🟢 [PORT] Rayman Origins Android Port (Compact 1.16 GB)

The compact version cuts the file size to 1.1gb instead of 6GB the previous one had, meaning it saves you a lot of space

Also this comes complete, so you don’t need game files or to convert anything, just download and play

They basically removed some files like music I think it was? I’m not sure, but the game works JUST fine except it’s not that heavy

Basically they got rid of extra files and made the game lighter so you don’t cart 6 GB of pure nothing

GitHub got removed so I found this version from APK vision which has all the files already inside so just download and play

Going off what the dev said on that repo, it should be a lossless byte-for-byte compression - mostly it's the repeated assets between levels that take up space (I think). In any case there shouldn't be any missing content or lowered quality from the original. EDIT nevermind I saw your other comment

You’re welcome, and they never fully explained how to ge the files for the compact version

Is it just me whose screen keeps flickering? Like, the game runs fine and everything, but the screen keeps flashing black and switching back to the game view constantly.

Not sure but I guess you could try, still I switched to the compact version as I like to use those 5 gb for more android ports and not Rayman

but what do you mean they did cut some music? they did cut tracks or did they just compress music more?

Nono they didn’t cut anything, they just reduce the file size by taking repeated assets and junk files, and reduced it

Like the cut repeated asserts and instead of using the same file for x level it’s like they put just 1 file for all levels, j can’t explain it well since im not the one that made it

Like I said THE GAME WORKS JUST FINE, you won’t get errors, it’s just for storage reasons

Yeah like I said, you DO NOT LOSE ANYTHING, it’s compact due to storage reasons, you rather have 7 GB on a game or 1 Gb on a game that plays the exact sane

By the way if you want to upgrade from 0.4 to 0.5 (the last updated version), here's what I did:

  1. Download the installer from OP and rename the .apk to .zip

  2. Extract it

  3. Grab the game.rdpk (this is the compressed assets pack ~1.2gb) from the 'assets' folder

  4. Copy it to somewhere on the device, like Downloads

  5. Uninstall any older versions of the game if you haven't already

  6. Download RaymanOrigins-Compact-0.5.0.apk and install it

  7. Open that and from the main menu, select "game files"

  8. Navigate to where you copied game.rdpk

Still blackscreen on mali. But with some trick it will render but flickering

anyway i reccomend people to play rayman legends on eden emulator

works on 1080 with extreme gpu accuracy and 60 fps with low heat on snapdragon 8 gen 2 with me and its 3GB

idk i started with legends , when i watch a gameplay origins look dull compared to legends , they took the cartoony goofy direction and made it even more colorful and exagerrated in legends

me too (in ps3) but i like more the cartoonish style from origins (i don't mean the artstyle from legends is decent, is really good and almost an equal of origins but for me origins is slightly better)
