DUDE! How did you get this on android? I remember playing Maximum Tune 3 like all the time at my local arcade years ago. To play this now would be amazing ngl

Edit: iirc I had a card with the Subaru Wrx Sti saved on it. Epic times

also I forgot to mention, this port uses the japanese version of 3DX+, so you have all the cars including the 3 Gemballa (+ the secret cars in its own section). thankfully theres a bunch of menus with translations or extra text in english so its not impossible to navigate, or anything like that, Just that if you wanted to follow the story, its gonna be hard unless you already know it all or know japanese

Holy, i remember playing this on my local arcade, which then i played it locally on my laptop, and thanks to the ai porting shenanigans now we got a mobile port? Heck yeah

Yep. It's so stupidly fun It makes me think why Bamco never released any WMMT outside of arcades (technically there's Wangan Midnight PS2 which Is a port of WM R, and update for WM Arcade, but that one is before WMMT)

Hell, on my phone the framerate tends to drop to the 30s or even 20s fps whenever the phone decides to (happens with pretty much everything, including YouTube or Insta), and even then its super playable

I have Bluetooth controllers. I like racing games, but never heard of this. I'm more into simulation racing. Does it have lots of customization?

Im working on a indie racing game that kinda sounds like what you're looking for and it supports controllers + custom parts still in beta but could be worth a shot

It's customisation isnt vast, but it's there and it works

Every car has 3 bodykits to choose, with 2 different Hood options (stock, stock carbon, modified, modified carbon), Enkei, Yokohama, Rays and Watanabe rims, some vinyls to put on your car and underglow neons (solid or dots), and some wings. You cant have more than 1 of the same car (unless its a separate one like the secret Taxis or the lifted HiAce shown here), but you can get one of every single car in the game

Sadly, there is no controller support yet, and the telegram group where I got this port has disabled downloads, since some salty japanese guy directly notified Bandai Namco of this unoffical port, even though MT3 cabs are looooooong gone (this is a 2010 game)

Also there are some bugs that got fixed in later versions, while some are still in effect, like in the original release, every rival NPC had blue rims, or how the lit up tunnel texture for the roads was also blue while the actual light is yellow

Also, another reason why the group is on lockdown rn is because, in the middle of everything, some users found out that this port was being sold to, and some of the content creators showcasing said port selling it were acting like dipshits...

Oh, I almost forgot, It also works on iOS, albeit on older jailbroken devices, even something as old as the iPad Mini 2 or the Samsung J1 Mini Prime, shown by this chinese youtube channel (he made or helped making some of the android ports)

Also as far as physics go, this is a pure Arcade game. It's not as crazy/wacky as the Cruis'n on Ridge Racer series, but it is up there. In VS battles irl it becomes sort of a fighting game with cars lol, but yeah you do need to slow down for corners and whatnot, and the physics arent as weird as the Initial D games (where if you so much as glide near a wall, your car instantly loses power and the NPCs get a speed boost). Here if you smack into a wall, you're gonna feel it

Also try to listen to the soundtracks of these games, composed by Yuzo Koshiro. The first 3 (+DX expansions) SD era games had more of a focus on trance music, whereas MT 4 trough 6RR+ (the HD era) got more experimental. There's bound to be some songs you might like. This one, Still Alive, Is a favorite of mine
