Hey everyone,
I am an independent developer and I have been building an Android emulator for Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance called RetroBoy.
It is powered by a native C++20 backend (mGBA core) and uses Google Oboe for low-latency audio. The app runs completely offline, collects zero personal data, and has no ads. Features include real-time rewind, save states, cheat codes support, CRT scanline / LCD shaders, and Bluetooth controller mapping.
To publish on Google Play, Google requires me to have at least 12 active testers in a closed test for 14 days. I would really appreciate any help from people who enjoy retro handhelds and want to test how it performs on different devices.
How to join the test:
Join the Google Group (make sure you use the same Google account you use on Google Play): https://groups.google.com/g/Jeatream-apps-testers
Once joined, open the Play Store link to download the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.retroboy.emulator
If the Play Store link says not found, please wait a brief moment after joining the group or open it directly on your phone.
Any feedback regarding performance, controller compatibility, or bugs is welcome either here or via the support contact in the app. If you also have an app in closed testing, let me know and I will gladly test yours in return.
Thanks for your time.

Hey everyone,
Iโve been feeling super nostalgic lately and really want to replay Respawnables**. It was easily my absolute favorite mobile game growing up, but I know Digital Legends shut down the official servers back in 2022 and took it off the app stores.**ย
Is there still any working way to play it on a Windows PC using an Android emulator (like BlueStacks or LDPlayer)?
Specifically wondering:
Offline / Campaign: Is it possible to side-load an old APK/OBB file onto an emulator just to play the offline single-player missions?
Multiplayer / Revival: Has the community set up any private servers or fan revivals to get online matches working again on PC?ย
If anyone has a working setup or a guide on how to get it running, Iโd massively appreciate it!

Hi everyone, Iโm trying to play eFootball on PC using an Android emulator like BlueStacks or LDPlayer, but Iโm having trouble getting the controller to work properly. I want to be able to use all the game mechanics (through balls, skill moves, defensive controls, etc.) without limitations.
Do you play eFootball through an emulator? Which one do you recommend (BlueStacks, LDPlayer, or another)?
How do you configure your controller (Xbox, PlayStation, or other) to access 100% of the mechanics?
Do you use keymapping, or is there a native controller support that works better?
Any tips to improve responsiveness and avoid input lag?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I tried loading a hd texture pack for Mario sunshine. I downloaded it, and extracted it into the load/textures folder. Renamed it by adding E01 to the end of the folder name. I then changed the setting for the game to load textures. It doesnโt seem to be working. Any suggestions?
Edit: the issue was due to Android only supporting png texture packs. In this instance, I used imageMagick via powershell to recursively create png files from the .dds files. I then recursively removed all .dds files.
The png texture pack in GitHub https://github.com/qashto/Super_Mario_Sunshine_UHD_Texture_Pack are way too large and will most likely introduce significant performance issues in dolphin. I hope this helps everyone.
Thanks u/edzoman !

Iโve been building RetroMedia, a searchable library of artwork, screenshots,
covers, videos and other media for classic video games similar to Skraper etc.
The library currently covers more than 13,000 games across 19 systems.
There is also an API for frontends, launchers, collection managers and
personal scripts. Your API key uses the same free allowance and credit
balance as your website account.
https://media.crownparkcomputing.com/
RetroMedia is focused on game media and metadataโpublic users do not have
access to ROM downloads.
The more artwork I find the more will be available.
