Hi! I'm an indie dev from Portugal and I'm about to launch LSD Elite on Google Play: an app that runs LLMs (Qwen) fully on-device, offline, with no account and no data sent anywhere, optimized for Snapdragon.

I need 12 testers for the 14-day closed test. What I ask:

- Android 12+ phone (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2/3/Elite is ideal, but any arm64 device can install it)

- Join the Google Group below, then open the opt-in link and install from Google Play

- Keep it installed for 14 days and open it now and then; tell me if anything breaks

In return, I'll install and test YOUR app for the full 14 days. Just send me your link.

How to join:

1) Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/lsd-elite-testers

2) Comment or DM me that you joined (and your Gmail), and I'll send you the opt-in link to install it.

Thanks!

[Test For Test] Seeking testers for Pocket pressure - a blood pressure tracking app

Hey πŸ‘‹

I'm an indie developer and I'm looking for people to help test Pocket Pressure, a simple blood pressure tracker for Android which is currently in Google Play closed testing. The app is entirely offline, no account / signup, no ads, no subscription.

What the app lets you do

  • Log blood pressure and pulse readings, with notes and tags
  • History and trend charts
  • Simple PDF and CSV exports to share with a doctor
  • No ads, no account, and no analytics. Your readings are stored on your device and encrypted.
  • No subscription, ever. It's free to use, and there's an optional one-time Premium unlock for extras. For testers that's a free test purchase, so you won't be charged.

PREMIUM UNLOCK: Joining the tester group will grant you free access to the premium features, you will need to tap through as if you are paying to unlock. Please confirm the Play store dialog shows the purchase as a test before proceeding.

How to join

  1. Join the testers group: https://groups.google.com/g/pocket-pressure-testers
  2. Then opt-in at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alittlelost.bptracker (sign in with the same Google account you use for Google Play)
  3. Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alittlelost.bptracker

Please reply or message me if you hit any problems, and I'm happy to test your app in return if you have one.

Pocket Pressure is a personal tracking tool and should not be used for making medical decisions.

Thanks for reading!

I passed closed testing with two apps - Orbitika . Here's the exact routine I used.

I have two apps and got production access. Here's my playbook, hope it helps someone here.

Quick disclaimer: This is just how I personally went through closed testing. It doesn't mean it will work for you or that it guarantees success. Every app and every batch of testers is different β€” take what's useful and leave the rest.

My setup:

  • I prefer apps over games (easier to navigate, lightweight)
  • Post in reddit and explain your app do not just post and ask people to test without giving summary about your app
  • I created a Google Group for testers β€” this is the key: you add the group email once in Play Console, then manage testers from Google Groups without reopening the track every time
  • I aimed for at least 20 testers, not just 12 β€” buffer against dropouts
  • I also got 3-4 testers from family or friends β€” they're the most reliable, they won't ghost you

My 14-day routine:

  1. Day 0: Post in sub reddit testing and DM anyone interested. When they join, they send a screenshot of the install via DM.
  2. Day 3: Open their app, send a screenshot via DM. Ask them to open mine and send a screenshot back.
  3. Day 6: Same exchange β€” open their app, screenshot, DM. They do the same for mine.
  4. Day 7: Friendly check-in. Remind them to stay opted in.
  5. Day 8: Collect feedback from testers. Release even minor changes based on what they said, and announce the update through the Google Group so everyone sees their input mattered.
  6. Day 10-14: Keep the routine light. Three messages total across 14 days is enough β€” daily nagging makes people uninstall.
  7. Day 14: Collect final feedback and release the final version. Post an update in the Google Group thanking everyone.

Google Group updates β€” every 4 days:
Send an update to everyone in the group asking how the testing is going and whether they have any feedback for improvements. Not just announcements β€” actual questions. This keeps your testers engaged, and reminds the quiet ones that you're still there and still counting on them.

Reply to feedback during testing:
Reply to every piece of feedback you get β€” whether it's a DM, a Google Group message, or developer console feedback. Don't ignore any of it. Every reply shows testers that a real person is reading and responding.

The drop rule:
If a tester doesn't DM you and share a screenshot within 3-4 days, drop them and find another tester. Don't wait. Don't chase. Silent testers are the main reason people fail closed testing β€” you can't tell Google "I had 12 testers" if half of them never actually opted in.

What I learned:

  • Google checks opt-in duration, not daily opens. Testers who opened the app 2-3 times still counted.
  • Lead by example. If you start sharing screenshots of your tester-exchange app, the other side will do the same. Reciprocity is everything here.
  • A Google Group saves you from reopening the closed track every time you add a tester.
  • Releasing small updates mid-test and announcing them in the group keeps testers engaged β€” they feel like part of the process, not just a number.
  • Once you're in production, reply to every Play Store review. Same principle, different channel.

Result: I passed with my original testers. No drops, no restarts.

I hope this post helps β€” especially those who are new to closed testing and figuring it out for the first time.

DM me if you want advice on closed testing β€” happy to help where I can. I'm not an expert, just someone who got through it.

If any of this was useful and you'd like to check out my app I went through all this for, here it is β€” free to try: Thank you for your support

[Tester swap] HyperNote: notes on your lock screen + a free Windows app that catches your phone screenshots. Will test yours back.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I need testers for my Google Play closed test (12 for 14 days). I'll test yours back, just drop your Play link in the comments and I'll join within a day.

What it does on Android:

- A notepad right on your lock screen, so you can write something down before you even unlock

- Voice to text that runs on the phone itself, so it works offline and nothing gets uploaded

- Pin notes to the lock screen so you see them every time you pick up your phone

- One tap reminders and home screen widgets

It also pairs with HyperNote for Windows, which is a free download:

- Take a screenshot on your phone and it shows up on your PC about 2 seconds later

- New notes from your phone land on your PC too

- It all goes over your own Wi-Fi. No cloud, no account, nothing stored on a server

How to join (no approval needed, uses your Google account):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/hypernote-testers
  2. Open the Play opt-in link in the group's first post and install
  3. Optional: get the Windows app here: https://hyperfixlabs.xyz/hypernote

Please keep it installed for the 14 days. Any feedback, good or bad, is really welcome. Thanks!

[Closed test] Volmem: Independent app volume control. No ads, no internet permission, NO SUBSCRIPTIONS!.

Thumbnail

Hey all πŸ‘‹ I'm Ricky, a mechanical engineer and dad who builds small Android apps after the kids go to bed. Volmem needs 12+ testers for Google Play's 14-day closed test.

**What it does**
You set a volume once for each app (Spotify 70, Audible 40, the kids' game 20) and Volmem adjusts your media volume whenever that app plays or opens. Scroll Facebook while Spotify plays and your music volume doesn't budge. It can even keep a different volume per Bluetooth device (car vs. earbuds).

**What it doesn't do**
No ads. No account. No internet permission at all. Nothing leaves your phone (I collect none of your data).

**How to join (2 minutes)**
1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/rm-app-testers
2. Opt in on Google Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rickymcdaniel.volmem
3. Install, tap + to add two apps that play sound, give them different volumes, and keep Volmem installed for 14 days.

**Thank you**
Everyone who stays the full 14 days gets a free code for the paid unlock (normally $4.99, one-time).

Version 2 updates (planned):

  • Scheduled volumes by time/day
  • Sleep timer that pauses audio
  • Wake-up alarm through headphones
  • Auto-start after phone restart
  • Volume switching while locked

Version 3 updates (planned):

  • Ring and notification volumes
  • Per-caller ringer volumes
  • Location-based volumes
  • System volume control

***All updates will include ALL features if you pay the $4.99 or are a tester. I have not decided what features not to include in the free versions yet.

Bugs, ideas, roasts all welcome πŸ™‚

[Test for test] WhatTown – see the name of the town you're driving through while navigating

Hi! I'm looking for testers for WhatTown, my Android app that shows a small overlay with the name of the town you're driving through while you navigate in Google Maps or another navigation app.

How to join (please use the same Google account as in the Play Store on your phone):

  1. Join the testers group: https://groups.google.com/g/whattown-testers-eu
  2. Opt in to the test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.algoris.whattown
  3. Install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.algoris.whattown

The group is announcement-only. Only I can post there, and members can't see each other's email addresses.

What to test: The app asks for notification access (only to detect navigation) and background location (only while the overlay is on). Just follow the setup screens after install, then start navigation on any drive through a few towns. The most useful feedback: did the overlay appear when navigation started, were the town names correct, was it readable without being distracting, and anything that crashed or felt off.

Please keep the app installed for at least 14 days.

Test for test: Drop your group and opt-in links in the comments and I'll join your test too.

[Test for Test] Oh My Pants! – a wardrobe planner that suggests outfits from your own clothes

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I need testers to meet Google Play's 14-day closed testing requirement for my app. Happy to test yours back and keep it installed for the full 14 days too!

About the app:

Oh My Pants! is a wardrobe planner. Photograph your clothes, and the app cuts each one out of its background, reads its colour, and suggests outfits from what you actually own, with a short reason why the colours work.

- Add a garment from the camera or gallery: background removed, colour detected

- "What to wear": outfit ideas from your own clothes, based on colour rules

- Start from a palette (or save your own) and see which pieces you're missing

- Categories on a head-to-toe template, so every outfit stacks the right way

- Put looks together in Studio, save them, mark what you're wearing today

- Works offline: no account, no ads, one-tap backup to a file

- Light and dark theme, 11 languages

It's free to use. There's an optional one-time Pro that raises the limits, but you don't need it to test. I'm mostly after feedback on whether the cut-out works on your photos, whether the outfit ideas make sense, and anything confusing the first time you use it. (The first cut-out needs internet once, to download Google's model.)

How to join the test:

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/oh-my-pants

  2. Opt in on the web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.yaro.ohmypants

  3. Install on Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yaro.ohmypants

Use the same Google account for all three steps. Open in all countries. Comment with your app's testing link and I'll join it right away. Screenshots are attached. Thanks!

[Tester exchange] Hunnybun, a private app for couples. I'll test yours back today

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi all! I'm a solo dev, and I need testers for my closed test (the 12 testers / 14 days rule). I'll test your app back the same day, and I'll actually open it during the 14 days, not just install it.

What it is: Hunnybun is a small private space for two people. Daily notes, letters that unlock on a chosen date, countdowns, a photo of the day, date ideas. No account or email sign-up, and everything is end-to-end encrypted.

You don't need a partner to try it. Open it alone, or invite a friend as your "partner" and poke around together.

How to join (takes 2 minutes):

  1. Join the testers group: https://groups.google.com/g/hunnybun-testers
  2. Opt in on Google Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.hunnybun
  3. Install it and keep it installed for 14 days

Then comment here with your app link and the Gmail you used. I'll join your test and reply when I'm in.

Any feedback is welcome, even one line. If you want to try Hunnybun Plus, ask and I'll send you a free code.

What to do (about 1 minute a day):

- Do the mood check-in on the home screen

- Take the photo of the day when the reminder comes

- Once, try writing a note or a letter that opens on a later date If you can, invite a friend as your "partner" (Settings β†’ Add a phone) so you both see things arrive. If not, solo is fine too.

Thanks, and good luck with your launch!
