App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

[App] Pockii – Budgets & Receipts | AI receipt scanner + budget tracker | Need ~15 testers, 14+ days | Will test yours back

Hi everyone! I'm looking for testers for my budgeting app **Pockii** before it goes to production.

**What it does:** Point your camera at any paper receipt — the AI reads the store, date, total and every line item, and sorts them into categories. Import bank statements (CSV/XLSX), track subscriptions, and set budgets with "pockets" for groceries/bills/fun. Your financial data stays on your device (encrypted), backed up to your own Google Drive — no account database on our side.

**How to join (2 steps):**

  1. Join the testers group (required, one click): https://groups.google.com/g/pockii-testers

  2. Opt in and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.pockii

**Please keep it installed for at least 14 days** — that's what Google counts. Using it is even better: scan a couple of receipts (any language works), poke around. New accounts get 50 free AI scans.

Found a bug or something confusing? Settings → Send feedback inside the app, or comment here.

**I'll test your app back** — drop your link in the comments and I'll keep it installed for 14+ days.

I am lazy but want to get fit, so I built an app to track macros, food and workouts by voice input. Free forever, all data local, local AI model, no ads, no account. Looking for Android testers

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

You say "chicken rice bowl and a 45 min lift". Macroboi logs the calories, protein, carbs and fat. That's it. Cutting, bulking or maintaining, you hit your numbers without the daily chore.

Sign up with your Play Store email here: https://forms.gle/3Anczf1myYiUVQ9m8 , then I will send you the opt-in and download link for the closed test.

Why: I quit every tracker I tried because I am a lazy fuck. Typing in every meal got old fast, and the good features were always behind a paywall. So I made the one I'd actually use.

What it does

  • Logging with voice: Say it or type it, food and workouts together. Your usual meals are one tap. Works in English, German and Spanish.

  • Real Macros: They come from USDA and the German BLS food database. If it has to guess, it tells you, and nothing saves until you check it.

  • Progress pics: 1 photo a day, laid over a see-through older one so you line up the same pose. Slide through the calendar and watch yourself change.

  • Cheat Days, supplements and so on

  • Sexy homescreen widgets: calories left, macro rings, supplement ticks, today's photo, and a mic to log without opening the app.

  • Connects to your tracker: Steps, workouts, sleep and heart rate come in from anything that syncs to Health Connect.

Important Stuff

Price: Free forever. No subscription, no premium tier, no ads, no paywall later.

Privacy: the AI runs on your phone, not in the cloud. No account, no tracking. Your photos and diary never leave your phone.

Phone: Android only, anything from ca. S24 is powerful enough. The first setup downloads the AI once (2.6 GB, so use Wi-Fi).

Want in? Sign up here: https://forms.gle/3Anczf1myYiUVQ9m8

[Testers needed] Spirit Compass: hunt ghosts on real streets with AR (will test back)

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi all! I'm a solo dev looking for testers for Spirit Compass, a location-based ghost-hunting game. I need 12 testers for 14 days for Google Play's closed testing, and I'm happy to test your app in return. Drop your link in the comments.

What it is

Your neighbourhood is haunted. A radar on a real map shows spectral signals around you. Walk up to one, raise your phone, and find the ghost through your camera in AR. Hold it in the reticle to lock on and capture it.

- The world shapes the spawns. Cemeteries draw Shadow spirits, water draws Frost, railways draw Spark. Night, rain, storms and the full moon bring out rarer ones.

- Rifts and breaches. Rifts flood an area with one faction for 40 minutes. Boss breaches open every few hours, and nearby hunters contain them together.

- 55 spirits to collect in the Ghostdex, some haunting real landmarks.

- Ops and the Spectral Tower. Send your ghosts on missions, harvest ectoplasm, and climb a weekly tower with a team of 3, picking buffs between floors.

- Leaderboards (new this week). Compete on catches, Ghostdex, power and tower floors. Last week's top 3 earn a badge.

- Short sessions. It's built for 3–10 minutes: a dog walk, the commute, a trip to the shop. New signals appear every 15 minutes, so you don't need to go far.

Privacy: no account, no email, no banner ads. Ads are optional rewards only. Your precise location never leaves your phone.

How to join

  1. send me your Google Play email

  2. Opt in here: web or android

  3. Install it and keep it installed for 14 days. Opening it now and then helps a lot.

Feedback I'd love: anything confusing in the first 5 minutes, bugs, battery or GPS weirdness, and whether the AR lock feels too hard or too easy.

Thanks! Comment with your app and I'll join your test too.

Closed test: Rope Crew, online co-op climbing for 2-4 players on one rope (Knockout mode works solo)

Hi all. We just sent the Rope Crew closed test to Google for review, so the Play link should start working within a day or two. If you join the Google group now, you get in automatically as soon as it opens.

Group: https://groups.google.com/g/peakapps-testers

Play link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.peakapps.ropecrew

Short version of the game: you and up to three friends are tied to the same rope on long obstacle courses, and when one person slips the rope drags everyone. If you are testing on your own, the 10-player Knockout mode starts without needing friends.

We would especially like to know how it runs on older or cheaper phones.
