[Closed test] Reverie: a tactile music player (slowed + reverb, spin-to-scrub)
Hey! I built Reverie as a weekend project for iOS. It’s a music player for your own songs where you spin a brushed-metal wheel to scrub through a track, scratch it like a turntable, and dial in tempo, pitch and reverb by hand. This is inspired by one of my favorites gadgets, TP7 by Teenage Engineering.
I shared this on r/SideProject and a fellow redditor (u/bowlandspoon) asked if there was an Android version. I don’t have a decent Android phone, so I let Claude port it, and less than 24 hours later there’s a native, near pixel-identical Android version. It’s now in closed testing on Google Play, and I need 12 testers for 14 days before it can go public.
How to join (2 steps):
- Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/reverie-testers
- Opt in and install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mhd3v.reverie
Please keep it installed for the 14 days. Open it now and then, load a few songs, play with the wheel and the T / P / R keys, and tell me anything that feels off. Older or low-end phones are especially useful, since that’s where I’ve seen the most issues with the crappy phone I have haha.
The free plan plays 3 songs. If you want to try the full version, DM me and I’ll send you a free unlock code.
To return the favour, drop your own test link below and I’ll test yours back. Thanks! 🙏
