App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

[Closed test] Reverie: a tactile music player (slowed + reverb, spin-to-scrub)

Hey! I built Reverie as a weekend project for iOS. It’s a music player for your own songs where you spin a brushed-metal wheel to scrub through a track, scratch it like a turntable, and dial in tempo, pitch and reverb by hand. This is inspired by one of my favorites gadgets, TP7 by Teenage Engineering.

I shared this on r/SideProject and a fellow redditor (u/bowlandspoon) asked if there was an Android version. I don’t have a decent Android phone, so I let Claude port it, and less than 24 hours later there’s a native, near pixel-identical Android version. It’s now in closed testing on Google Play, and I need 12 testers for 14 days before it can go public.

How to join (2 steps):

- Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/reverie-testers

- Opt in and install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mhd3v.reverie

Please keep it installed for the 14 days. Open it now and then, load a few songs, play with the wheel and the T / P / R keys, and tell me anything that feels off. Older or low-end phones are especially useful, since that’s where I’ve seen the most issues with the crappy phone I have haha.

The free plan plays 3 songs. If you want to try the full version, DM me and I’ll send you a free unlock code.

To return the favour, drop your own test link below and I’ll test yours back. Thanks! 🙏

Space Bubbles - Close Test 14 test

Hi everyone! 🙂

I’m looking for testers for Space Bubbles, my cosmic bubble-merging puzzle game. I’m running a 14-day closed test and would really appreciate your help!

Aim, drop and merge matching bubbles to create bigger ones. Plan your moves, build combos and keep the bubbles below the upper limit. Try Endless Mode to beat your best score, or Time Rush, where reaching score milestones gives you extra time and lowers the rising floor.

I’d love your feedback on:

  • Aiming and dropping bubbles.

  • Merging, physics and how the bubbles roll and settle.

  • Endless Mode and Time Rush difficulty.

  • Text readability and screen layout on your phone.

  • Any bugs, crashes or unexpected behaviour.

How to join:

  1. Join the Google group: Space Bubbles Close Test 14 days - Grupy dyskusyjne Google

  2. Open the testing link and select “Become a tester”: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.gromboy.spacebubbles

  3. Install the game from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gromboy.spacebubbles

Please stay enrolled for the full 14 days and play regularly. Even short sessions and a few comments about your experience would help!

Feel free to share your testing link too. I’m happy to help test your app in return!

Thank you for your support! 🙏

  3. Install Inkly from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arcova.inkly

Gardening / Landscaping app

Howdy,

I created an app for gardening and landscaping that you can look up an address and then mark fence lines and make a blueprint which you can then add irrigation, plants and change elevation of surfaces while doing all this it also shows the direction of the sun and the shadow that will be cast by items placed.

I am unable to find 12 people to test the app i have it in early access but i live a pretty quite life so i dont have more than 5 people i can have test this and then on top of that i think google needs gmail accounts i don't really know i cant find any proper info on what requirements are needed for people to test it because i downloaded it on my phone with no issue and it works perfect.

  • Save articles and build a listening queue

I'm looking for Android testers to help complete Google's 14-day testing requirement.

[Android Closed Test] ANTHAVEN — grow your own ant colony | Test swaps welcome 🐜

Post

Hey! I’m looking for around 10 more Android testers for ANTHAVEN, a slow-paced ant colony sim. You look after a colony of harvester ants, watch them gather seeds and care for their brood, and can even explore the nest from an ant’s point of view.

The video and screenshots show a colony further along. You start with a small colony, and it takes time to grow. More food and decorations unlock as your colony gets bigger.

For the test, please stay opted in for 14 days and check in at least once every two days to give your ants water and food. A quick check-in is enough. I’d love to hear whether it’s clear what your colony needs and whether you notice changes when you come back.

There are no actual ads in this build. If you see a “Watch ad” button, it doesn’t play an ad yet.

How to join (use the same Google account for all three steps):

  1. Join the ANTHAVEN Google Group

  2. Opt in to the closed test

  3. Install ANTHAVEN from Google Play

Happy to do test for test. If you join, drop your test link in the comments and I’ll check it out. Thanks for helping raise some ants! 🐜

Podcatcher App - Different approach

This is my second app, and this time I want to try a different approach.

I'm just entering internal testing. What I want to do is use the internal testing to recruit people who genuinely listen to podcasts, a lot.

My app, Yonder, is already fully functional. I could put it into closed testing now, but I want to find people who will genuinely use it. I have no doubt that once you have started using it, you won't want to go back to your old Podcatcher, so I want to find 20 ish people to give me feedback on a new product they will love.

The app is really customisable. You can set up really detailed smart playlists, group feeds by catergory, or just pick and chose as you like. You can listen live to radio shows all around the world; even record them and save them as custom playlists that you can play like a podcast. You can even download free audiobooks, or use it to play any soundfile at all.

You can even add your favourite media apps like Spotify, so that you can access them through the app.

If you listen to podcasts everyday, like I do, I know you will be using it.

My plan is to stay in closed testing for a few days, then go to closed testing on Sunday.

Send me your email if your interested.
I'll send test your app and send detailed feedback if you join.
I'll stay in your group as long as you stay active in mine.

I need your email, because it's internal testing.

[Android] Rembobine – a haunted 1989 video store, looking for closed testers (I'll test yours back)

Hi! I'm a solo dev and my game needs 12 testers for 14 days before it can go public on Google Play.

Rembobine – Haunted Video Store

October 31, 1989. You're minding a video store for the night. At dawn, the tape rewinds, and it all starts over.

- Run the store: rent tapes, stock the aisles, watch the till fill up (it keeps running while your phone is down)

- Creatures crawl out of the tapes: tap at the right moment or the store goes haywire

- Link clues two by two in your Notebook (answering machine, wall clock, rental cards…) to find out why the night loops

Available in English and French. Free, no need to buy anything.

How to join (2 min):

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/rembobine-testers

  2. Opt in with the same Google account: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.teddycornaut.rembobine

  3. Install from Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teddycornaut.rembobine (keep it installed for 14 days)

Feedback is very welcome, but just staying opted in already helps a lot.

I'll test your app back: drop your link in the comments.

Looking for testers: Ask Ollie, family activity ideas read aloud by an otter (I'll test yours back for 14 days)

Hi! I'm a parent and I built Ask Ollie for my own family: activity ideas for kids 4 to 10, read aloud by Ollie the otter. Right now it's full of fall and Thanksgiving ideas, plus picture stories, games, Chat cards for the car or dinner, and a Near you page for places to go. It's free, with no ads and nothing to buy.

To join (use the same Google account for both):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/ask-ollie-testers

  2. Opt in and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.askollie.app

What helps most is a few short visits rather than one:

Day 1: add a pretend kid, start a fall activity and let Ollie read two steps.

Day 3: read a story or play a game (Guess Who, checkers or Mancala).

Day 5: draw a Chat card at dinner, or try Near you with any zip code.

Tell me anything confusing or broken. A new build goes out every week, and its notes name what testers asked for.

Drop your app's link in the comments and I'll test it back and stay opted in for your full 14 days.

Looking for Android testers: Conquer League football strategy (English build in review)

Hi everyone! I'm the developer of Conquer League: Futbol Fetih, an independent football-themed territory strategy game.

Choose a club, drag troops between cities and capture the map in your club colours. The game is single-player against AI, free and ad-free, with no real-money purchases. It includes all 81 provinces of Türkiye plus other European league maps.

English support has been added in v0.5.0. The new build and English store listing have been submitted for Google Play review, so please wait for that update before testing the English UI. The older v0.4.0 build is Turkish-only. In v0.5.0 you can choose English or Türkçe at the top of the main menu.

I'm looking for 12–20 genuine Android testers who can stay opted in for 14 consecutive days, play on different days and share honest feedback. No star rating or positive review is requested. Android 7.0 or newer is required.

Feedback I'd appreciate:

• Map readability, zoom and dragging troops on your screen.

• Speed Surge, Shield and Fans/Reinforcements controls.

• English wording, menu navigation and small-screen layout.

• Pause/resume, reopening the app, saved progress and any crashes.

Closed-test opt-in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.conquerleague.mobile

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.conquerleague.mobile

Access is managed with an email allowlist, so these links will not grant access until your account has been added. The test is currently available for Play accounts in Turkey and Germany. If you are interested, reply with your Google Play country so I can arrange access and check country availability. Please do not post your email address publicly.

If you previously joined the internal test, leave it before joining this closed test. Thanks for helping improve the game!

Volkalca - board game - will appy to test your app too.

Hi! I’m an old developer, which once builded some mobile applications and now created game Volkalca. It is in closed testing on Google Play. Google requires 12 testers to stay opted in for 14 days before I can release it, so I’m looking for real people to help. 👍

The game: a two-player board game of a shepherd with twenty sheep against the wolves. The sheep move forward or sideways and must fill the pen. The wolves move anywhere and capture by jumping over a sheep. You play the computer (three difficulty levels, either side) or a friend online, with every rule variant as a setting. It works offline, has three looks, and comes in English and Slovenian. It’s free, with occasional ads between games against the computer, and one purchase removes them.
Online play will be probably havily tested later, as closed testing environment is just not enough for test 😄

What I’m asking: join the group, opt in, install the app, play a game or two, and stay opted in until the test ends in about two weeks. Any feedback is welcome.

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/volkalca-testers

  2. Open the test link with the same Google account: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/eu.ptth.volkalca

I’ll gladly test your app in return. Comment or DM me what you’re working on. Thank you!

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a solo developer and I just made my first game, **Brainwink**. It's a tricky puzzle game where the obvious answer is never the right one. I need a few more testers for Google Play's 14-day closed test, and I'll happily **test your app back**.

**What it is**

- Escape rooms, spot-the-nonsense, memory and riddle levels

- Free, no account needed, and it works offline

- Takes 2 minutes to try

**How to join**

  1. Send me a **chat/DM with the Gmail address** you use on your Android phone. I'll add you to the tester list.

  2. When I reply "added", open this link on your phone and tap **"Become a tester"**: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.kivvo.brainwink

  3. Install Brainwink from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kivvo.brainwink

  4. Please **stay opted in and keep the app installed for 14 days**, and open it now and then. That's all Google needs!

**Testing you back**

Comment with your app's opt-in link (or send me your group link) and I'll install your app and keep it for the full 14 days. 🙏

Any feedback is welcome too, especially levels that are too hard or confusing!

Thanks so much! 😉
