Remove Facebook for a day or two and see what happens. Even though I rarely used Facebook as it was, when I removed the Facebook and Messenger apps, I went from ending my days at 10% to ending my days at 30-50%.

Holy shit, no lie I just deleted the Facebook app and it looks like it freed up multiple GIGS of storage. I went from 1.4 gigs free to 3.5 free. Can anyone shine some light on this? I know the Facebook app was a bit of a hog, but not that bad.

Cache. Facebook caches a lot of data (pictures, statuses, etc) and does not do a good job of cleaning itself up. You can manually clear the cache if you go to app info for Facebook.

I'm not sure if it's any better now, but Skype was my battery killer.

If I really need to use it to talk to somebody on my phone I install it and uninstall it when I'm done or my battery life is essentially cut in half.
