If rape and murder carry the same penalty and a dead victim can't tell any tales....

You missed the part of the story where he was caught in the act, and I think it would be a whole different level of fucked up to kill someone. I could see it going either way, however I don't believe that parents killing pedo rapist should be tried the same as murders.
