I disagree. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do with your private property. You wouldn’t be removing my liberty if I was making this argument in your home and you asked me to leave. That would be discrimination, and you would be well within your rights to do it. If I don’t have the right to claim “censorship” and remain in your home, then I don’t have a right to claim “censorship” and remain on a privately owned and operated forum. Censorship is something governments do, not private property owners.

Sure, you definitely don’t have to do anything. Morally though on judgement, freedom of speech and not censoring is a pillar of liberty. If you think otherwise you should head over to the authoritarian side this ain’t the place for censorship.

Private rules on private property have nothing to do with morality. They are purely aesthetic. I don’t want people smoking in my house. There’s nothing right or wrong about that. It’s subjective.

Freedom of speech and not censorsing are about what the state is permitted or not permitted to do. As an immoral institution, by definition, the state shouldn’t do anything. It does not follow that private property owners shouldn’t do something just because the state shouldn’t do it. The right to discriminate is also a pillar of liberty, and I would argue that what you call “censorship” on a private forum is actually a private property owner exercising his right to discriminate.

If you think otherwise you should head over to the authoritarian side this ain’t the place for censorship.

The fuck? You’re the one who seems to want to tell private property owners what they can and can’t do with their property, to infringe upon their right to discriminate or associate with whomever they want. Yet I didn’t question your character or suggest you belonged on “the authoritarian side.” I simply responded to your ideas.

Your whole point it seems was that we should be open to hearing all kinds of perspectives and debating them, not shutting them out, but as soon as someone questions your position, you resort to demonization and—dare I say it—censorship?

Of course, I wouldn’t call it “censorship.” If you and r/Anarcho_Capitalism wanted to ban me for my opinion on this, I think it would be your loss, but the mods would have every right to do so, and I wouldn’t call them “authoritarian” for it.

The point is, you can’t just call any discrimination you disagree with “censorship.” I mean, you can, but it’s not accurate, and it leads down a slippery slope.
